Best way I can describe this product is it’s literally like foundation for your hair. Whatever your base color is, the product will lift and enhance it (depending on what shade you pick) I originally got their launch in PR and was so scared it would be a disaster! Since then I have purchased the atomic blonde and rose gold myself from Ulta several times. Amazon is even better because free shipping and a shorter wait :) First photo- atomic blonde. I have also attached a reference photo for what my natural base color is (a cool blonde brown) at the time I was going to the salon for bleach, but my roots return very quickly and I wanted something less harsh. This is PERFECT for that, the foam is easy to control and does not have a staining color. Because it’s foam, it’s a lot more beginner friendly in terms of actually getting an even deposit of color all around. I was extremely surprised to see a little bit of lift and brightness, it gave me that sunkissed summer hair that looks natural. The color did not fade whatsoever and basically lasted until my roots needed a bleach. I’d say that I use this in between a bleach, let it grow out again and then bleach (rinse repeat). I change my color up a lot so eventually I went from blonde to pink, read on! Rose gold- this is the product that really sold me on this brand. I was considering moving to a pink/rose color and decided to test the waters with rose gold, IT CAME OUT AMAZING!! The photo where I have less makeup on is the initial result, the other photo where I have blue eyeshadow is with a pinch of Joico hot pink placed over the hally rose gold. It’s literally the perfect wash of color, and to me looks like something I’d pay hundreds for in a salon. I use dandruff shampoo once every few washes to maintain my scalp health and the color held up fairly well. Eventually I moved to a hot hot pink with bleach. Similar to the atomic blonde, I used the rose gold in between fades to slightly lift up my roots and provide a different type of pink wash. It penetrates extremely well and is quick and painless. I just bought the atomic red to try because my hair is currently a warm auburn, photo for red (wella 5C, permanent gel color) and yet again I want something to put in between fades. I will update this review with my thoughts once give it a shot. I have high hopes, Hally has literally never let me down! Overall, look at this product as a wash/hair foundation/enhancement that will pack more of a punch than your traditional non damaging color, and will save your hair the torture of dreaded box dye. There are few non salon grade products on the market that will produce drastic results (or results at all in the case of rose gold) without bleach and/or completely frying your hair. There is a lot less room for error with this brand, and I think that makes it a standout product and a must have for those of us who can’t wait to try a new color. At home color is always a risk, so your mileage may vary. To me, this is about as risk free as actual coloring gets. If you’re experienced in playing around with color this product is affordable and it’s EVERYTHING! If you’re just messing around and trying to see what would look nice like I did before I switched to full blown pink, it’s EVERYTHING! *I have partnered with hally in the past and received products in PR, thoughts are all my own* UPDATE: I used the red and it came out great! I recently tried out the Hally Hair Color Cloud Demi-Permanent Foaming Hair Dye, and let me tell you, it’s a game changer! This was not what I thought it was. I put the soupy mess (foam) in my hair and waited for 30 minutes. I got up and rinsed it out, however there was no color. At all! My hair looked exactly the same.

This product worked really well for my youngest daughter's hair which is blonde. Not so great on my eldest who has light brown/dirty blonde. Same product and very different results. Which is to be expected with different hair tones. But if you really want it to pop, I would only use it on blonde hair. Like that it's a foam bottle, it's easy to apply!

I have been using Hally hair dye for about 1 year now and I can't recommend it enough. I started with extremely black hair and upon just 1 application of the box dye, I could already see the color through my hair in the sunlight. I was glad that I had found a brand of gentle hair dye that wouldn't compromise the health of my hair and wouldn't require bleaching for the color to show. On top of that, I love that Hally's hair dye washes out within a few weeks. As a daily hair washer, I found that the color would last around a little over a month which I think is really great for its value. The application of the hair dye is super easy too. It is a foaming consistency and all you have to do is just spread it around your hair evenly, let it sit for about 45 minutes or longer, depending on if you want the color to be more vibrant, and wash your hair normally. After the color faded from my first application, I decided to repurchase the dye again to see if the color would show more which it did. It is important to note that continuous application of Hally hair dye will result in a lighter hair color. I went from having dark black hair to now a brown with a slight red tint since I had been consistently re-dyeing my hair with the red color throughout the year. Overall, I recommend Hally if you're looking for an affordable, temporary, and gentle hair dye. This is a great way for people who are trying to dip their toe in the waters of dyeing your hair without having such an extreme and permanent change. Box dyes from drug stores are notorious for leaving your hair damaged but Hally will not do this which is really amazing.

UPDATED REVIEW: HALLY customer service reached out to me after I left my original review, they were very helpful and fixed my issue. While this product didn't work for me, their customer service is great. 👍 ------- I purchased "Dark Mode". I applied to my un-dyed/natural level 7 medium blonde hair for the recommended time and I saw no noticeable change in color. It was easy to apply, however it did not perform as I expected. Perhaps the other colors work better but I don't plan to repurchase. Unfortunately there is no return option available.

I am delighted with Hally’s Color Cloud temporary hair dye! I have tried other semi-permanent hair color products, but they didn’t meet my expectations. Then I read an internet article about the best hair tinting products for brunettes, and this product was highly recommended there. So I took a chance and bought this product, and I am very happy that I did. I still had my primary brunette color, but also had enough grey hairs that it bothered me. I was looking for something to give me back my 100% brunette sheen, without looking artificially dyed. The Hally Color Cloud temporary hair dye gave me the exact results I wanted. It is not a harsh-chemical dye but leaves a lovely brunette restoring glaze to the hair. The effect was noticeable after just one use, and with each subsequent application, the color was enhanced. It is also very easy to use: just add the dye foam to your hair and wait 30 minutes. Then let the hair dry. Apply enough product to cover the hair from root to tip, and allow it to remain on the hair for about thirty minutes. During that time, wash your hands with soap and water. After the thirty minutes are up, dry your hair and style it in the usual manner. It will fade over time, but (according to the package instructions) it can be used once a month. I have no interest in promoting this product other than sharing my excitement about finding a product that works for brunettes, is inexpensive, is easy to use, and provides the desired results. I highly recommend it.

So let me start of say this product is so much fun and I would definitely recommend buying it for the experience but not the pay out. I am a bleach blonde. My hair is relatively light (2nd picture for reference) and according to the box I should have expected a big pay off. I bought two boxes of hair dye because when I do it at home with regular dye I generally need three boxes. One of the boxes had spilled but I was in full eff it mode and proceeded. I sectioned my hair into three and broke those parts into smaller sections. I applied at the roots and worked my way to the tips. I used 1 and 1/2 bottles to ensure full coverage and waited 45 minutes. The pink hair dye was looking purple but I was trusting the process. I washed it out with could water towel dried my hair before blow drying it and I looked like I had left my purple shampoo on my hair too long. It was not pink at all and almost looked like it had dyed my hair dirty blonde in some areas. It also lightens my roots which is rather bothersome. The results are in the third picture. TLDR: it was fun but it was a purple pastel instead of pink even on my bleach blonde hair.
