The apparently sturdy metal spike has had fout lugs stamped into it. These are to keep the ring in place. Unfortunately the stamping greatly weakens the spike, so if the ground is particulary firm, it is too easy to snap the spike. The ones sold by 'Pets At Home' are far more robust.

Broke on first use at ring join when screwing into grass. Amazon refunded with no issue excellent customer service.

Is OK if the ground is relatively soft and stone free, but won't be any good in stoney ground. Mine snapped when trying to get it into hard ground, so the material quality isn't up to much. I have replaced it with a straight hammer in type stake, so we'll see how that compares.

Cannot recommend this. The first one snapped while screwing it into the lawn. The replacement item (kindly sent hassle free) also snapped in the same way. Returned for a refund.

Great for our cocker spaniel when we are camping. I feel more relaxed knowing he is safe tied up while we are setting up and unpacking.

Snapped on first use. Bought as a dog anchor for a puppy but the top snapped off as it was put in the ground!! Pointless.

Dogs can now join us outside the caravan
