Notice to potential buyers!
This item (PS4 Cross-gen bundle) only contains the PS4 disc of Diablo 4, the free PS5 upgrade comes through accessing the game on the PSN store, and the game should pop up as a free download. Now, about the game itself, is it any good?As someone who grew up in Diablo games, this is more of what made the previous games great, only with an "always online" fine print.Much like your online multiplayer games, say, Overwatch(another online game developed by Blizzard) you need to Login to the server each time you play, and you will get disconnected if you go idle for too long.Having owned the game for about 24 hours as of this review (and having played it for about 5 hours straight), this game is just as fun as the previous entries! It runs at a buttery smooth 60 Frames per second, outside of the cinematic cutscenes, but those are few and far between (at least from what I've seen this far). One gripe (and it's not affecting the score, because it's a good gripe), there's sooo much to do in the world (one big, expansive, open world) that even after playing for 5 hours, I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of the world and the story! If you're a fan of easy to learn, hard to master dungeon crawler experiences, where it's super easy to defeat enemies, the effects are flashy and exciting! Give this game a look!

I am LOVING this game
I have logged about 25 hours in the game and here are my thoughts. Graphics are great. Sound is great. As for the internet/networking part of it, no problems at all. Every time I start the game, I spend maybe 20 seconds in the queue before I am logged into the server and another 30 seconds for the game to start. I have never lost my connection or been booted out and lost progress. The game has however locked up twice and I had to quit and start the game again, but both times I was put right back where I was when it locked up, so no lost progress as others have reported happening to them.Gameplay compared to the other Diablo games. Graphics are way better than the cartoon looking Diablo 3. Darker feel. They did away with some of the tiresome grind stuff. You can use a town portal to go to any town you have been to and activated a portal. That saves you from backtracking out of long winding dungeons. 95 percent of the gear you pick up is specific to the character you are playing so you don't get loaded down with junk from other classes you can't use. Magic items you find do not have to be identified, they are usable as soon as you pick them up.Dying: When this happens you respawn at a checkpoint close to where you died. You don't lose your equipment and have to go find your dead body and equipment. Your equipment will lose 10% of its durability, but you can run right back into the fight with not much penalty for dying. Just remember to repair all your equipment next time your in a town. When you respawn your health and health potions are restored to full capacity, so you are not jumping back in the fight with a health disadvantage.Open World: It isn't so linear as the other Diablo installments. There are lots of side quests you can go on. Do them in any order, traveling to whichever territory you want to explore.

Online only.
Had I known it was online only I probably wouldn't have bought it. I'm very disappointed with Blizzard in making this a requirement to play. I am a die hard Diablo fan from the beginning. I got the first one on my home PC in the 90s. I've played the games and loved them. I don't understand the change in format now. I also didn't appreciate the price tag. But as I'd been waiting for years for this game I gritted my teeth and bought it.That being said it is fun. It's more like Diablo 2 and 3 combined. You'll hear snippets of the original music from Tristram in the game. That I loved. It's easy to play if you are familiar with Diablo. It should be easy to pick up if you're not. If you like the format online only you can't really go wrong with Diablo. Good luck. See you in Kyovashad!!!

Doing the same thing over and over.
I really tried to like this game, but at about the 50 hour mark I just realized that I was doing the same exact thing over and over and over again. The game is extremely repetitive. If you are ok with that, you'll love it, if not...you'll eventually get bored.
