Don't waste your money & time
Fails to perform as described. I needed to build up a small area of chipped edge on an otherwise beautiful Aluminum Holley carbeurator. From there I can file it / shape it to match adjacent surfaces. polish to match as best I can. The Material was about as thick as a U.S. nickel coin. I filed the edge to assure a clean surface. I tried increasing heat incrementally on repeated attempts. Re-clean and repeat. I did find that once you expose the rod to the flame, the core melts out. You can't tell if your work area is fluxed or not. I could not get it to flow at all.If these work at all it must be under very specific conditions with a very narrow temperature band and only certain alloy types?? Seller should provide details on what it can and can not do. I was unwilling to increase temp to the point where I could destroy the part.

temp
Melting temp is very close to allumium

Works well but needs practice if you've never used them before.
Works well when you get it right. A few things to consider when using them,•make sure your base metal is clean, sand any oxidation off where you're trying to braze.• don't get impatient it needs to be very hot to flow properly, it also won't flow right if you get it too hot• depending on metal thickness a propane/map torch might not enough you may need an oxy/map torch to get it hot enough• once you get it upto temp don't turn the flame off just move it slightly out of your work path so it's still putting heat into the piece. Aluminum cools off very fast if you take the heat away it'll get below its brazing temperature before it has a chance to flow properly.• don't put the stick/rod in the flame itself apply it like you would solder

Would probably work better for someone with talent
Didn’t work too good for me turned to a paste when heated could not get to work well with low heat

Takes skill with torch
When welding/brazing aluminum, there is a small temperature range this works in. Up to 1/16th inch, propane will work but takes time. 1/8 inch takes MAPP gas to work well. But these worked exactly as described and worked great for my project!

Not that good not worth the money.
Does not work well at all no matter how well you clean the metal. It does not flow well at all and you end up melting the aluminum before it starts to flow. Not worth the money or time to get it.
