Mariposa Oar Spreader

Bought these to pair with my Mariposa Dory. They are the perfect accent. Sadly, the first order was lost and never arrived. I had to start the order process again. The second order arrived on time.

This was purchased as a gift so the return window closed before the issue was noticedThe product itself is great. I bought 2 of these to accompany both sizes of servers and the nut dish. I went all out on this collection. Ther other pieces arrived nicely boxed. However, the oar shaped spreaders arrived in a plastic bag with very sticky retail tags wrapped around both pieces. It was very difficult to remove the stickers. The soap I used discolored the finish. It contains vinegar which must have an acid base because the manufactuer instructions state that acid will discolor. I then followed the manufacturer instructions and used a metal polish to try to restore but it didn't work. Again this one star is for the packaging from the seller not the product.If in fact vinegar based cleaning solution was the issue I'll need to keep in mind that pickled foods will not work with these products. Also advertising photo shows lemon in the server but lemon is also acidic. This severely limits the usefulness of these items for serving, especially on a boat were tomatoes, lemon and fermented foods are used alot.
