This is a sediment filter and works great for that. PVDF filter material also claims to remove virus and bacteria, micro and nano plastics. But that I cannot test. Our well has fine sediement and it filters it out perfectly. Even the city water, wich seems very clear, carries a lot of sediment here. After a few weeks the back wash of the filter shows it clearly. Apart from the incompatible thread I am happy with this purchase.

This filter was a huge letdown. American-made ultrafilters are known to remove dissolved organics and clean water approaching RO level filtration. The main difference is they usually do not strip the water of all minerals like RO filtration. This filter is from China but the photos show yellow water turning clear, so I took a chance on the filter. I ran into several issues with this filter. First, it uses metric thread so you will need two Metric BSPP Female to NPT Thread Male Pipe Fitting Adapters. Amazon sells these for about $17 each. Also to access the filter top for cleaning you will need something flexible to connect it. I used two FLEX Stainless Steel Corrugated Water Heater hoses, another $29. With the additional valves for bypass, it cost me just over $150 for installation hardware beyond what the filter comes with. I placed this filter after all the other filters in my system. This included an iron filter, water softener, and carbon filter. I ran a 16-point water test with NO measurable water quality difference. The water color was also still yellow after running through the filter. My water contains a small amount of tannins. I also tried the filter with just the iron filter in front of it. Even then there was still no measurable difference in water quality. I think this could be used as a relatively good sediment filter except for the last issue... The biggest problem though is that the filter's metal appears to be soldered where the pipe ends connect. This joint tested POSITIVE for lead with a swab test. Attached are photos of the before and after water test strips as well as the lead test swab.
