Not "Sturdy and Stable," needs added bracing and extras
Overall, I have to give this rack a rating on the low side of mediocre. Everything about it is engineered to use the absolute minimum amount of materials. Specifically, the wire grids on the floor panels are way too light gauge and flexible--they deform and sag with even modest weight placed on them. One of the four in my 4x8 unit arrived bent due to shipping/handling damage. My solution was to put a sheet of plywood on the floor over the frame. That allows the weight of your stuff to be distributed mainly onto the framing members. And pretty much renders the wire grid superfluous. It's not difficult to assemble, but there are a lot of bolts and Nylok nuts so an impact driver will speed the job along. That said, it took about 4 hours to install working alone, even with power tool help. The assembled rig is far from rigid--it sways significantly, especially in the narrow direction. "Sturdy and Stable" as stated in the description is simply not accurate or truthful. I added some 1x4 wood diagonal braces on the vertical angle supports. I would deem bracing essential if you live in a seismic area (i.e. US West Coast); the company should provide adequate bracing with the package. Some horizontal struts between the verticals to keep stuff from falling off would also be a wise idea. I don't expect that the 12 provided lag bolts screwed into ceiling joists would hold a fully loaded rack in a major temblor. That would require a more robust suspension configuration. I plan to add some additional lags. The 4 utility hooks provided are OK, but the 2 flat hooks don't carry much weight without bending.I have a 10 year old, much smaller Hyloft ceiling rack that is much sturdier--the wire grids are much heavier and it doesn't sway even without any modifications. I relocated it and it was much quicker/easier to install. Unfortunately they don't seem to offer large ones like the Fleximounts. As to value, I rate this unit only fair to poor owing to the shortcomings noted above and having to add sway bracing and plywood on the floor. More and more, it seems products these days require some re-engineering to make them usable. I probably would not buy this product again, it is simply not worth the price given the issues and needed extras.

The most difficult ever
This storage rack is the most difficult and it is not adjustable based on where your studs are. Some houses has studs at every 16 inchs and some at 24. This rack has no option to install in an average home.

Great product, good service, happy customer, but product could have a few slight improvements
Firstly, this was one of the most intuitive assemblies I have seen. You dont even really need the instructions. The only challenge here is finding the studs and planning placement of the brackets. I had a few obstacles to work around like my garage support bracket. Plus I have joist running one way for part of it and the other way for the other part if it. It helps to get in the attic to see what you have to work with.As far as quality, I am an engineer and really appreciate the straight forward design and the heavy duty hardware. The cages could be a little better supported though. One more bar or two would help or thicker metal for the cage itself. I had to be a little strategic not to put all of the weight in the middle (like stacks of paint cans). This is much less of a problem when you have larger heavy items as the load is evenly distributed. Now it may have been fine but I didnt feel comfortable with the bit of sagging. Another benefit is these shelves butt up to each other nicely and you can even bolt them together for more stability and to make it a more seamless shelf. I have 3 across 2 walls and it looks like one massive wraparound shelf. I didnt have the problem some people had where it sagged in the middle. I am guessing that was an install problem. There is a support for the middle on both sides with 4 bolts and there are 4 more bolts tying the two pieces together underneath. My guess is someone forgot to put the bolts in the bottom. Another nifty thing I liked was all the nuts and lag bolts were the same size socket that was really convenient. I had a drill with the allan bit and a battery powered socket wrench and that was all I needed. As far as stability, it's pretty solid. If you hit all the studs I cant imagine this thing going anywhere. Yes it moves a little if you dont have it against any walls so I guess for that application thicker drop brackets would be nice. For me, it is against a wall on all sides so not an issue. If I wanted I could bolt them to the wall as well but I feel pretty good about it as is.Also this seller is very responsive. I ordered the dual set and only one showed up. I contacted the seller and they responded in just a few days on a weekend to provide me the other tracking number!Good service and good product. I would buy again for sure.
