Great balls, forget the rope
These balls are the best! My dogs are heavy chewers so we can't play with tennis balls as they tend to only last for a few seconds.yes, the rope on these balls comes off very quickly, but I tend to cut it off myself as we just want the ball itself. They do float, but aren't massivley boyant so would probably struggle in turbulant water. My dog often drops them into the reservoir where we walk and we haven't lost one to the water yet. They fit in tennis ball wangers, but are quite heavy and my cheap wanger couldn't handle being thrown very hard - so be carfeul!I have purchased a number of these over the years and they are very hard wearing and durable. our staffie managed to split the first one she had, from constantly bitting on it - but it still works and floats, it just doesnt bounce very well nowwould reccomend

The ball is excellent. Pity cannot choose colours.
My Rottie / German Shepherd cross chewed the rope off pretty quickly, so I pulled the remains of the rope out leaving only the ball. And what a perfect dog ball it is! It is the size of a tennis ball so fits the whanger nicely and is the right size to chase and carry. It bounces well, and is hollow with two holes in, so it whistles when thrown hard and I can put a fingerful of marmite or bovril up inside to improve the taste and smell. It is indestructable (she bursts a tennis ball, even a good one, with just a couple of effortless chews). The holes are on opposite sides of the ball so her tongue does not get pulled in.The green or red ones do not stand out for her very well, and she searches for those primarily by smell. Orange, Yellow, Blue, Pink are all good. A most excellent dog ball, for all throw / catch games.

Fantastic Ball - rope not so great!
Unfortunately, my 1 yr old 15kg dog chewed through the rope on this very quickly, so can't give 5*. However, the reason I have given 4* is - the Ball - it is great. We use it in the Ball 'flinger' as it is a perfect fit, tough and easily washable. Our little 'angel' destroys Tennis balls in the blink of an eye and chews the surface covering of other types - leaving a soggy, round, bacteria and dirt absorbing sponge. This ball is really tough and she has not been able to even damage the surface, as it is smooth is does not hold dirt etc and is easy to wipe or wash. The added bonus is that it is hollow, with 2 holes in, which makes it lighter than other solid plastic balls, but heavy enough to 'fly' far. Plus the holes make a slight whistling sound as the ball flies through the air, so doggy can keep track of where it is going more easily. This, combined with the bright colour (ours is orange) and the fact that it floats, means she rarely loses it and we have saved hours of 'ball-hunting' time.Overall, I would say that if your pooch is a toy destroyer and you want a ball on a rope - save your money - the indistructible ball on a rope does not exist for a determined dog. But lots of people have asked where I got my ball from and got one too!Update - my dog is now 3 years old and we are still using the same ball reviewed above & it is as good as new!! Now that is value for money!

Good quality but too heavy for most dogs
This ball is the make and style I normally buy for my collies but this particular model would be better suited for a Gorilla to play with. Very heavy and larger than normal tennis balls (probably my fault for not checking diameter before ordering) and would knock my dog's teeth out if it tried catching it. Very sturdy and would probably stand chewing and rough play from a Great Dane or Bull Mastiff but totally unsuitable for smaller dogs. Quality and price is very good, which is why I normally buy this companies products. After spending ages searching Amazon for the product I wanted, I thought I had found it!!! Back to searching.

Brilliant floating ball-rope is sometimes a let down. -update now all lost their ropes!
Have bought many of these over the years - had to replace not because they wear down or perish -just that my lab is so daft that if she drops it in our local river and it floats off she then can't find it!! Only complaint I do have is that a few times the rope has failed, in as much as the little piece of rubber over the join moves and the rope is only glued together underneath and this then comes apart. But all in all I am just happy to have a floating ball rather than it sinking in the depths of the water never to return.Update sept -bought some more of these in august( my lab loves to take them in river but then can't find them if they float off!!! ) 1st one -blue one -didn't float -sank straight away -2nd one -red one- string came off after 4 days!! So disappointed -I normally love these balls -maybe it was a bad batch. Update -March 2016 -well used my last ball -much as I love the fact they float -all of my previous order have lost their ropes. I don't use them as a tug toy -this is purely through throwing. I did have first one replaced but think this must have been a fault in the batch. So disappointed as my lab loves these balls and loves taking them in the water.
