Good value
Although I submitted an earlier review when this order had not arrived, I have now received this product and am extremely pleased with it. It is reusable, easy to use and came with extra crystals. Apologies for previous review.

Brittle plastic
As the product has just been filled and put into their designated spaces I’m not yet able to give an accurate assessment. I bought a pack of three boxes. Well packaged with lots of bubble wrap BUT the product plastic is so thin and hard that it’s vulnerable to breakage in transit as I discovered with one of the three. The items arrived in the bubble wrap ie no external box. I couldn’t be bothered with reporting/returning so it’s been repaired with masking tape for now.

These work!
In colder weather, we have a few issues with condensation and also a built in wardrobe that gets quite damp. We’ve had all sorts of tradespeople claim to mend this, but clothes kept getting damp, even those stored on boxes. We’d tried everything but these, so thought we had nothing to lose. Well, these far exceeded our expectations. Firstly, we were horrified by just how damp it is in that wardrobe, along with the hall, kitchen and bathroom. Secondly, we were amazed by how much water was collected. And, genuinely, these have made a massive difference. I’d laughed at these for years, thinking they’re not exactly high tech. But, these do their job and then some.

They work well, but they have tricky lids.
These boxes are similar to others we've had in the past, in order to combat condensation. The clips on the lids stick a bit and are quite flimsy, and I suspect they may snap with any rough handling. Underneath the lid is a plastic latticed layer, where you pour the moisture-absorbing crystals. The gaps in this latticed layer are quite widely-spaced, and a lot of the product falls down into the the part of the box where the condensation collects. Depending on the amount of moisture in your rooms, the boxes need to be emptied of collected liquid, every now and then. This is done via a little spout on the top. Then you refill the top bit with a fresh layer of dry crystals. We need to do this every two weeks, and will need quite a lot of crystals over the space of the winter, to ensure we don't get any condensation damage/mould while the central heating is in use. Obviously, if you have smaller windows, you will need to use less product and empty the boxes less frequently.
