Perfect for the young imagination
The book was great at getting the reader into the lives of the animals in Doc's backyard. They each had their personality and traits but also were aware of each other in a positive way. Of course, Margie is the star and deservedly so. She is so girly-girl when she gets her glasses and begins to decorate her spot. There is intrigue when strange noises are heard by the animals in the night. Who has been coming in the yard? Ah...that is the best part. Be sure to read this wonderful book. I loved it and I'm 74.

Having fun with unusual pet pals.
What a way to combine unlikely animals in a back yard with the added glasses for Margie. The book lets your mind wonder what pets might do given the freedom to roam and interact. The unwanted "guest" may be more true than we like to think, but solving the problem was fun. Hopefully we get to meet them again. My grandchildren found it fun and that is what it is all about.

Wonderful, warm story!
Another delightful tale from Virginia K. White! I love the wise, resourceful vet, his yard full of charming critters and the ways of nature.
