I recently ordered 8 more of these lights to add to the two dozen I already have. Two of the latest order were not working so I removed the screws and opened them up to see what might be wrong. What I discovered were that the batteries had a bit of corrosion or some kind of thin plastic on the bottom (flat end) and the tension spring also had a bit of corrosion or thin plastic coating (where it contacts the battery base) that was stopping the battery from working. I scraped the corrosion/plastic off the batteries and tension springs with the tip of a small screwdriver and reinstalled the batteries- lights immediately worked. It was just a matter of the batteries and tension springs not being clean- a simple, quick and easy fix.On another note, the two dozen lights I ordered a few months ago are still working great and look wonderful! I placed them on top of the fence posts surrounding my pool deck and they really add a lot of interest, color and ambience to the area. Couldn't be happier with these lights!I just want to add that I've had quite a bit of experience with solar lights and, as such, would like to point out that for some reason the manufacturers don't adequately waterproof the lights- all the solar lights I've ever had (stake lights in particular) are not well sealed and rain swiftly enters the lights through the top around the solar panel edges. The water then proceeds to get into and corrode the internal workings over time and eventually destroys them. I learned that lesson long ago. SO, with these lights I was taking no chances. I used clear scotch tape and covered the edges of the solar panels (with just a slight overlap onto the solar panel) and excess tape was removed/trimmed away with a razor knife. As the old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Just thought I'd mention this and give everyone a heads up so any possible future disappointment can be avoided.

As soon as I went to assemble them I saw when I pulled out the stakes they were dirty, obviously sold a previously used product. Amazon offered a refund if I returned but thought well if they worked they were pretty. Well in only a couple weeks only 2 are working, installed new batteries but no luck. 50% of them work. I ordered two sets of these lights. If they work they are beautiful. I bought these in December but had to wait to put them out when the weather got nicer. Out of the eight only four work. What I do like about them is they have an off and on button underneath. I have gone out each night to make sure that the ones that don't work are on the on position, and they are. Too bad since these are nice when they work.

In the past when i have ordered them there is always at least 1 or 2 out of several boxes that do not work. Recently, out of the 8 boxes that i ordered the equivalent to 2 boxes did not work straight out of the box. The return window has passed (I did not put them out straight away) so factor this cost into the overall purchase cost. When working the lamps are bright and fun

I ordered two sets and each box brought one that doesn't work. I'm not returning them, instead I'm going to order another to make up for the two that don't work

I was so looking forward to have these in my garden. Only one out of the four worked. I had them in the full sun for two days. The one that does work is so pretty. I won't be ordering any more because I don't know if they'll work, and it's a big hassle to try and return them.

These are very nice looking but right out of the box, and 2 solid days of direct sunlight... one light still does not work. DisappointedUpdate: after 1 week of use... 2 lights have quit working.

Bright, work well, charge lasts through the night. When I look out in the early hours of the morning these are the only solar decorations still illuminated.
