Easy to set up -works great so far-had it about a month - will see how it holds up!-
Easy to set up. I like that the ink doesn't seem to dry out as fast as with the old style printer cartridges.Hopefully it lasts several years- I have really had it with planned obsolescence and I am tired of investing in items that only last a short time- hopefully this last well beyond the promised 'you get 2 years worth of ink- implying the product will last beyond that- which I hope it does. We are all trying to function in the modern world but if it become too burdensome to do so more of will simply 'opt out' of all of it, so I hope companies start to realize that and build products that people can buy maybe 2- 3x in their lifetime vs having to fill land fills and dump plastic in the oceans. Anyway sorry for the mini rant but seriously it's enough. The printer has worked very well for 1 month so far- I need to print scripts at home for my work which I feel guilty enough about. I hope I don't need to throw this printer in the trash in a year- will circle back after some time has passed and up dated but so far so good- easy to connect to wifi nice image quality - having some trouble printing some PDFs in color- but that might be a local problem.

Worst Printer I have Ever Had
I bought this just under a year ago by mistake, actually. I've owned HP Officejet printers in the past and after disappointing print quality and expensive cartridges, I decided to buy an Epson Eco Tank for home use. Was so impressed with it, I decided to get the same one for the retail store I own. Logged onto Amazon typed in EcoTank and this HP popped up first and for some unknown reason I thought it was the Epson and purchased it.I have had non-stop issues from day one. First it doesn't have an ethernet port, only works on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (so I have to run it on the same network my security cameras are on). I print out a lot of purchase orders and I am constantly battling with this printer to print out just ONE complete 3 page order. It will print the last page, then half of the next and then I get an error message "error cannot print document". Sometimes it won't even print a one-page document. I might get half a page and that's it. I reboot printer, computer, uninstall, reinstall, use the HP smart app. Uninstall the app, reinstall the app. Nothing helps. I have 2 laptops at work and both have the same issue. I even installed it using the USB cable and it makes no difference. I worked in IT for 25 years, so I think I know what I'm doing, but after a year of this foolishness I think I will let the next delivery truck run over it and go out and get an Epson like I should have done in the first place. Not one problem with the Epson that I have had for a year also.

Slow but, good printer for the money.
So far so good.🙂 with this much ink it just keeps on printing and printing. The software leaves a lot to be desired! Just go with the "Windows" drivers.🤗

Excellent Printer, MacOS, Eco-Refill,
HP Smart Tank 5101:Excellent printer. Great on MacBook.Bought for economical refill cartridges with bottles of ink. Easy to fill.Never going back to cartridge systems, in home office printers.Notes on "Draft" quality printing:"Draft" setting is very quick printing, just ~3 sec/page, (full page of text). This setting is meant to print out an incredible number of sheets/minute.However, take note of the "Specialty Paper"(thick) setting, as printing "Draft"(low) quality paper using the "Plain Paper"(cheap plain printer paper) setting leaves some ink areas unsettled and may smudge.Increasing quality to "Good"(medium), or "Best"(highest quality), adds printing time, only a few sec/page, (full page of text), and will prevent any small smudge areas."Draft" is intended where minute smudges are negligible, and large quantity of print-outs are needed in compact office form factor.Notes on Install:Super easy. You will figure it out.Notes on Paper:Have run everything through it that I have (Cardstock, 75gsm, 200gsm, Linen, Cotton, #10 Envelopes, Avery Sheets, ).Reliably prints on everything without problem.Be diligent to set paper type to "Specialty Paper", if your paper is at all different from 75gsm (plain cheap paper).Notes on Ink usage:Refillable cartridges. Simple, easy to fill and load.Prints by Wireless and USB( and USB-C to MacOS ) without weird software add-ons.HP App is encouraged, but not needed, "HP Utility" will save print presets in MacOS without downloads.Have printed more than 400 pages B&W, ( full page 12pt, low & med quality )and ~50 Color (CMY) beefy, ( >30% color/page area ).B&W down only ~5%,CMY down only ~3%,Confident( at this rate ) it will print another10,000 B&W pages, with B&W ink shipped/included ( K=135mL, ) .And another2,000 CMY pages, with all ink shipped/included ( C=50mL, M=50mL, Y=50mL, ) .Thank you HP, andalways remember to Have A Good Day !

Good printer, setup took effort
The setup took some effort due to my now obsolete 20th century engineering skills, but following their website and downloading hpsmart was essential. Seems to work well, printing is a little slow per page, but likely typical I guess. I’m pleased that the inks are on the order of $30 for the complete set, compared to more than $100 for the Epson cartridges for my old printer. There was some confusion on setup when I downloaded an upgrade, so have some patience if you do that. Overall I’m pleased.
