Ukulele for Seniors

This book is great. It outlines important cords to know and follows up with appropriate songs.

I really liked the selection of songs used for teaching.

I am a senior over 80 years old. The reason for 3 stars is because I thought since the book was for seniors I would know most of the songs. I was disappointed to find that I only recognized no more than 3 songs.

Sometimes you need an actual person to help with learning something. This is one of those times (for me).

I don’t have a musical knowledge base. I’m starting on the ground level. The author does not account for low level skilled readers. Book not helpful.

I expected a more in depth discussion and instruction.I was surprised when I got to the end of the book so quickly!

I do not own this book but it may be helpful to very senior ukulele beginners who remember/enjoy these songs. As a senior, I found this book very simple to follow. It is excellent for beginners. It takes you step by step through learning to play the ukulele.

Good and informative

This is a good selection of songs seniors are likely to know, arranged with simple chords so they are easy to play. Unfortunately, too often this results in arrangements that have upper notes too high to actually sing. Going up to the “G” an octave and a half above middle C is not uncommon and some go up another note to the “A” up there which to my mind is very high indeed for any singer let alone a senior. Still it has lots of enjoyable songs to practice on if that’s what you’re looking for.

A pity all the chord charts for each song weren’t put at the top of the page. Otherwise it would have been 5 stars.

Hood book, well written. The reproduction of the score could have been a little larger if I'm honest, but a useful tool.
