Short easy to read stories.

Good book of Egyptian Myths with an explanation of each Myth and some questions at the end. My 8 year old son studying Egypt at school enjoyed them. Some of the stories did not need an explanation as the way the story was written explained it within the story. They are told using modern language in a form that reads like a summary of the story and for that reason we feel they lost just a bit on the engagement but good overall.

My class loved these stories. We used the story of Sinuhe as a story with a historical setting for lots of class work. We then enjoyed reading lots of the different stories as a class reader during our Egypt topic. It doesn't really have many illustrations and is quite text-based so was more useful to read to the children than for them to read it themselves. Highly recommended.

Excellent book. Bought to use in a year 5/6 class. Needed stories from Ancient Egypt as a stimulus for writing. Would recommend.

Brilliant for teachers with little background knowledge of the myths and legends plus can change stories to meet childrens' need when teaching as there are some references to alcoholism in it-even though it its being truthful! :) thankyou
