By far the best ever compact radio that i have purchased in the recent years.I already own D-808, R-108 but this is outstanding and surpassed in performance, despite it is cheaper than others but don’t underestimate it’s performance based on the price.Excellent receptivity, sound clarity and compactness, looks good, feels good in hands.Battery Life: I listen to this radio 2 hrs everyday and i use Alkaline batteries which lasted more than a month.I can access FM channels from 180 KM far from the stations.AM clarity is the best among the rest.Though this radio is excellent in FM and AM, but the sweet thing about this radio is SW, you can access every SW channels across the world and this little guy is capable enough to receive them, you just have to know the timings.I daily listen to US radio channel in SW 1170 kHZ at 6 AMIn my opinion this is outperforms every other radio out there at this price point.This can even bought for collectibles as well.Highly recommend to enthusiasts.Stay tuned to radios!

The radio is nice, has a good build quality, looks of the radio are also good. FM Reception is strong, if you use it on a heighted place the reception is even better. MW and SW reception is not that good, if you provide additional antenna then MW, SW reception will improve. Sound quality is good, max volume is very loud despite small size of speaker. Size is compact, easy to keep in pocket. Overall it is a good purchase.

This radio has excellent reception and works with 2 AA batteries. It is dsp radio and there are multiple adjacent peaks for each channel which I am trying to get used to while tuning, it feels quite different from a true analog tuning radio.The sound is clear and loud, the treble has shimmer to it and there is no bass. However the sound never fatigues the ear like tecsun radios because the 2-3khz presence zone is not too forward. A very likeable sound and can be listened to for hours without fatigue.Update: Near Kolkata I listen to MW 1008 kHz and that station has very low sound. The D219 is the only radio that makes it listenable out of Tecsun PL 310ET, xhdata D109, R108. The xhdata D808 comes close but still less loud.Reception is excellent, no complaints. I compared with xhdata D808 and Tecsun 9700dx and this one is equal to those.FM is mono even with headphones, but you will have sound in both ears.Fit and finish is nice and this small little radio is overall very good.Update: Initially I did not have much expectations from this radio but the more I use it the more I like it. Tuning knob is perfect - not too loose or tight, dial size and SW band division to 9 bands again makes a perfect length tuning scale, channels are reasonably spaced and easy to tune. Volume control is analog and so can be set to very precise and low volumes on sensitive headphones unlike digital volume encoders. Takes simple AA batteries, almost pocket size and sounds very loud. Everything has been done right on this radio which makes it a joy to use.Now if they add an external antenna socket in the next version that would be awesome. Meanwhile I will drill a small hole and add a small socket on my unit as there is ample space within the cabinet.

Dear friends,Iam a radio enthusiast. I have purchased Pagaria r917 on August 2023 and after that Xhdata d219 in October. (because I had read many positive comments about d219)I think, d219 was not as amazing product as it advertised.I live in a signal fringe area where all of the MW and FM relay stations are more than 100 Kms. far.So, I tried both Pagaria r917 and Xhdata d219 and after a keen experiment, I found r917 better in every parameter than this popular radio d219.Pros of r917-(1) build quality of r917 is far better than d219.(2) Sensitivity and even selectivity is also found better in r917 to tune distant MW and FM stations. (I hoped d219 will win in this segment but not)(3) Audio amplifier is far better in r917. You can compare it from any bigger sized Philips radio (they are well known in sound quality but limited to receive only local stations. They are not built for the fringe area in recent time).(4) However, r917 and d219 are DSP chip based radios but r917 performs well and beats the well known silicone lab DSP chip of d219. (I don't know which chip is used in r917 but Iam giving true feedback as per my experience.(5) Not only loud sound but clarity, deep bass and treble are very good in r917.(6) Chargale heavy duty 18650 battery and a 5V charger is provided without any extra charge in r917.(7) r917 is well designed than d219. Its a beautiful radio.(8) Emergency white torch and mobile charging facility with rechargeable battery is a boon in r917.(9) We can also use it as a deep bass and loud sound bluetooth speaker.(10) Facility to connect with sd card and USB.Cons. of r917(1) Heavy than d219 (because this is not a single radio but a full package of multiple usage)(2) Comparatively smaller antenna than d219 (but still it catches the distant MW and FM stations better than d219)(3) Approximately 100 rs. expensive than d219.So, I justified only one star for its sale discount price only.Hope, this will help.
