This thing is awesome as long as you have somewhere to clip it to. I love the dimmer light setting so that I can have a light on while my husband is sleeping and I can move the light so that it is not aimed at him and I can still see.The only problem I see people may have is that you have to have a USB outlet to plug in. I have one by my bed so this is perfect for me.

This is a great little reading / desk lamp. I have mine attached to a 2 1/2 inch wide bed head board. The clamp is quite strong and there is probably a bit more room to clamp onto a 2 3/4" (maybe 3") wide material.The lamp has two modes (Bright & Soft), The bright setting provides enough light to allow for fine detailed work, where as the soft setting is strong enough for night reading without disturbing your spouse's sleep. The brightness mode is controlled by a simple toggle switch that is attached to the cord about 1 foot below the clamp.The lamp also has three colour modes.(wihte; mixed, yellow) which is controlled by a push button located next to the brightness toggle switchSince the lamp consists of LED light bulbs, it produces no heat.The unit comes with a USB plug (No adaptor is included). You can either plug it directly into a computer USB port, or if you are like me, having numerous USB phone charrgers, use one of these plugged into any wall outlet to power the lamp.The goosneck of the lamp is quite strong and retains its position quite well.All in all, I would highly reccommend this lamp and plan to buy more.

After going through I don't know how many cheap (quality), useless USB clip-lamps, this one has been great...so far.--The goose neck is stronger than normal. Caveat: you must use the clip right-side up, the goose neck does not like to support the lamp if the clip is upside-down or sideways. But in the upright position, it holds it's position much better than these lamps usually do.--I also like the rubber-like sleeve on the gooseneck, gives a nice, clean appearance.--The fabric bands on the clip are a nice touch when trying to attach to something thicker, keeps from marring the surface. It's a nice detail, and a simple thing, but shows someone was paying attention to consumer complaints about these types of lamps.--The head is nice, keeps the light aimed down so doesn't blind from the side.--The on-off-modes switch is nice. I like having it away from the head and not one of those "push and hold and memorize patterns to get to different modes" buttons (which tend to fail or be annoying). I also like having the switch down farther on the cord so I can mount the lamp in locations farther away.--The two colors of LEDs, that's a really nice touch (and what first caught my attention). I tend to use the soft-white for reading and both for computer work.--The two brightness levels, also nice. The dim setting is often enough to read by at night, but the bright is great for working projects or more general lighting or a larger space.I'm reserving a 5-star for a long-term test to see if the lamp lasts (LED's, clip, or goose-neck doesn't fail; been there with other lamps). I do own three of these lamps at home and one at work now, so let's see how they hold up.

Bright (but not harsh) light, good coverage. Two great features are that its dimmable and that you can power it off of a USB connection, making it portable. I have a rollaround desk so it works well. The lamp is a bit bigger than I had envisioned but not problematic for me. Has a small footprint really. The snaking cable allows for flexibility to adjust. Very strong clip. Overall am pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it.

I really can’t say enough good things about this light. I purchased one of these a couple months back to use as a booklight. I discovered that this is more than just a booklight. It should actually be called a utility light. I bought a second light for my workshop. The attached photos speak for themselves. This light is flexible and can be bent to go anywhere. You can clip it, hang it, hook it, make a stand, use it on uneven surfaces. It’s thin enough so I can stick in the crack between my truck seat and console to see what I’ve dropped down there. Anywhere you need a little light, this will go. It has excellent battery life. I used it as night light in my bathroom when the bulb on my regular light went out. It was still going strong in the morning after being on for 8 hours. You can also use it while it’s charging. It has 4 brightness settings so you can have adequate light for the task at hand. It will not light up an entire room but it will get pretty bright for up close use. I like that I can literally fold the light in half and carry it in my back pocket. It’s just awesome and I imagine I’ll be buying another one before too long.

I debated a long time about which type of light to get. Not sure I made the perfect choice, but it works fine and I like it. It's just the scalloped edge on my desk that's the worry. This has a powerful spring and it's staying in place. I think it's too much to attach to my laptop.[EDIT: I made a couple of additional purchased that necessitated my moving this lamp. I found a much better place to put it. My HP monitor has a hand grip space on the back of it. The piece of plastic the lamp is attached to isn't very thick and the strong spring on the lamp stays put. It comes across the HP monitor and is right over my laptop keyboard. This is a much better setup for me. No glare or reflection on my laptop monitor.]I like the settings and prefer all 24 leds on, I prefer the color of the light. I just need something to shine on my keyboard. Easier than replacing a laptop keyboard with one that is back-lit.

When the product was delivered and I tried it on for the first time it was not lighting up. After repeated attempts over the next two days I had to to send it back to the seller and I got my refund.
