Sew Easy Tailors Sleeve Roll – Tailors Pressing Ham for Ironing Seams & Gathers for Sewing Dressmaking Tailoring

This was smaller than I expected and more expensive, but it has the same fabric and satisfying heft as my tailors ham, so I'm pleased with it. It's stuffed with sawdust, which is necessary for use with a steam iron. It has already become an essential bit of kit for my dressmaking but I have two gripes - one is that it deforms easily, meaning I have to roll it about after use to prevent it from becoming flat. The other is that it has a distinctive medicinal smell when in use.

Never used one before but after making a dress with gathered sleeves I wish I had brought one before. Makes pressing so much easier. Would definitely recommend.

This is a good product and easy to use. Can't comment on price as this was the only one I looked at.

My wife does a lot of dressmaking/haberdashery stuff, most of which I don't understand but am happy to acknowledge is far more skillful with a needle than I'll ever be. She asked for this and the 'ham' shaped one for presents and who am I to refuse? She won't stop going on about how good they both are. They seem to be stuffed with sawdust or something but whatever it is is firm yet has a little give in it to ease the pressing of seams etc. They certainly do make quite a difference, I haven't herd her swear once doing sleaves and the like since she started using them and that can only be a good thing. They seem pretty well made and will probably last her a lifetime unless my 2 yr old daughter gets hold of them. Thanks Sew Easy, my kids won't grow up swearing now :)

I bought this in conjuction with the normal size tailor's ham. This item is essential for pressing smaller curved items for example cuffs, sleeves and tote bags.The item is slender. Length is abour 30cm. Weight is less that 0.4kg.It is well made and nice and easy to work with and it's a tool that I will be using again and again.

Does what it says on the tin and in that respect excellent. However at first glance the three pics as shown implies that you get all 3 items, which would be good value, and I was therefore disappointed to get only one. There are actually 3 distinct products shown here, and the description as is is misleading and needs to be ammended to make this clear and to avoid confusion.
