All the important parts of a great tool at a great price
Good: Blade Stainless so almost no care required (yay!) Graduated thickness - great blade flex out of the packet Edge good enough to use straight off Tang through handleLess good: S/S Hilt of handle not well aligned with wood Wood finish not great Blade not completely flat Side edges of blade pretty ropeySome reservations initially about the "new" blade shape but it doesn't seem to have any negative impact in practice.Summary - Everything you need to get going and pretty spectacular for the price, especially compared to some of the horrible knives I've used in the past... but evidently lacking the human touch. Mine was completely usable but benefitted from a little honing to become a true "inner circle" tool - I sharpened/smoothed the edges, flatted the faces and tidied up the handle. 20 minutes and I had a fab tool that even my inner OCD was struggling to find fault with.

Great tool
Good stainless steel blade that's ideal for filling and sturdy enough to mix polyfilla in a tub. The wooden handle feels good in my hand. The only thing is I can no longer buy a replacement as Amazon won't deliver for whatever reason.

Good product, it has nice level of flexibility
Not too much flex and not too little, just right to apply putty and fix the holes in my walls.

Proper quality filing knife
Its great to find these still being made! This is proper quality just like my dad used to have. Top quality steel with a machined taper (more flexible at the wide, work end) and the steel goes all through the handle as one piece. The handle is real wood and solidly fitted. Its not stamped Stanley on the handle but does come in Stanley packaging. For the price this is an absolute bargain - get one!

A very good flexible filling knife
Bought this to help filling in some fine cracks, filling knives I've had previously have been quite a sturdy blade and whilst they serve a purpose they've never been flexible enough for some situation. This however is a great flexible knife, good weight in the hand and perfect for smaller areas (bought the 25mm version).A great addition to your decorating kit in my opinion. If you have found this review helpful, please let me know by hitting the “helpful” button! or if you have any questions then feel free to ask :)
