First I am a little disappointed that top and bottom have to be done. The videos on utube show a gasket with permatex and that’s not what I got. Top and bottom went on just fine, BUT there is not enough material for chimney seal after i pulled old gasket. Quite unhappy. Update. Rutland contacted me and sent me more than enough material to do the job completely. So, if you have a large egg, get the 17’ gasket for full coverage. I was informed permatex gasket is not this company’s product.

The gasket is fine and this brand holds up. Long time BGE owner - 17 years. Install tips; old gasket must be removed completely, use rubbing alcohol and a wire brush, then scrape. Let it dry and then use course sandpaper, wipe clean. Spray a thin coat of 3M 77 high temp glue, wait 5 minutes then apply gasket. The spray glue just makes a positive seal and works well. I dinged it one star because it was barely enough for my large egg and chimney. This gasket lasts me about 2 years and I use the egg year round at least twice per week. Hope this helps!

My original BGE gasket was burned to ash after a few years. I've had this one for a few months and it still looks great. It even survived a high temp (650 degree) for cooking a bunch of pizzas. Still seals the rim nice and tight for low temp smoking.

The self stick makes this very easy to install, no messing with glue.

This product said it included “extra material for chimney” and it absolutely does not. I bought this as part of an anniversary gift for my big green egg obsessed husband. In the description it includes large eggs, and it absolutely does not fit a large egg including the chimney. Would not buy again as now my husband can not use his egg until additional product from a different party is delivered. Also to make things better two months almost exactly the glue on the gasket has now come off in places and yes I cleaned the egg extremely well before installing and guess what now it’s too late to return or get a replacement very disappointed I don’t understand how the $17 POS can hold up a year no problem but the $50 upgraded version that supposedly last clean burns but can’t last two months WTF If I was gonna waste $50, I would’ve went to the casino

I thought I was getting the Rutland gasket that installed with Permatex. To my surprise, this one had a 3M adhesive backing. Installing was quick and easy. I've done a couple of high heat pizza cooks, a couple of slow smokes and some general grilling. Everything is holding up and performing well so far.

Arrived on time. Cleaned with tsp (also bought from Rutland). Installation instructions were clear. Would recommend.
