As a medium brown Filipino guy, this mineral sunscreen goes on nicely. Now at first, it does leave a noticeable white cast. But after rubbing it in circular motions for a minute or so, it blends in with my skin just fine. After waiting the recommended 15 minutes before sun exposure, any hint of the white cast is completely unnoticeable. Even when reapplying 2 hours later, as long as you rub it in well, it absorbs into the skin just fine. The texture and consistency is not chalking or gritty, but rather it’s smooth and silky and it doesn’t feel like I’m wearing sunscreen. I really appreciate some additional active ingredients like Niacinamide, Vitamen E, and Squalene that help moisturize the skin. So if you’re looking for a more minimalist skin care routine, you can use this without needing a face moisturizer before hand. So far, I’ve had no break outs or any negative reactions, but do be aware it does have niacinamide if you’re sensitive to that particular active. I also love that it’s water resistant and doesn’t sting or burn the eyes when I sweat. This will definitely be a repeat purchase throughout the year.

This sunscreen is exactly what I was looking for. It has a light texture, doesn’t leave a white cast, and absorbs quickly without feeling greasy. I love that it’s fragrance-free and mineral-based, perfect for sensitive or acne-prone skin. Plus, knowing it’s biodegradable and water-resistant makes me feel even better about using it daily. I’ll definitely repurchase

I have apparently developed an allergy to most sunscreens as an adult and this is the only one I’ve found that doesn’t make me burst out into hives. As an actual sunscreen it works well, I’ve never gotten burned while wearing it and it doesn’t sweat off. On the downside: it takes a while to fully rub into your skin before it becomes transparent, it leaves a slight sticky residue, and it takes at least two rounds of scrubbing to fully get it off your skin. But overall I highly recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin.

Edit- it does the job of spf but does not apply easily. After a couple of days using it just didn’t get better. The lotion really sticks to one palm and I end up having to use that hand to smear lotion on my face then i can rub it in as I normally would. It does tend to feel slightly greasy. This works well enough, for the price it’s worth it. It’s not sheer though, which is not unsurprising since it’s a mineral sunscreen, however, it does require you to rub it in your hands a lot before applying. It comes out of the tube nicely but it’s almost like it’s hardened and you really need to rub it in to soften it.

I finally found it!! This is an amazing product. Seriously!! I had kind of given up on sunscreen for my face because my skin is so sensitive and breaks out with all sunscreen products. I’m not a sun tanner, Im a sun burner. My skin burns very easily I just started buying hats to protect my face from the sun. But I have fallen in love with the Alba Botanical products so I figured I’d give it one more try with this product. It goes on very nicely. NO white build up at all! My face is generally on the oily side but this product did not add to that. It absorbs nicely into the skin and did not irritate my face at all!! I can use this before applying my makeup or just being fresh faced while enjoying the outdoors. I would highly recommend this sunscreen to EVERYONE!! I love this product and ALL Alba Botanical products!

I have used this product for years after doing extensive research to find a sunscreen for my face that has the least chemicals but doesn't leave me looking like a clown. In fact, I have been so happy with it, that I may have left a great review on it. That was then, this is now. Imagine my surprise & disgust to find my latest purchase completely changed. They have added so much water to it that when you put it on your face it is like you put it on wet skin. The white mineral base smears into patches that are impossible to rub in without major effort (your future plastic surgeon will be cheering this development, yes?$$$), because the original oil like composition of the product doesn't mix with all the water it now contains. I can't imagine even a professional clown would be able to make this work.....I don't know about the rest of you, but I am SO DONE with the current trend of manufacturers of every ilk sneaking, sleazing, making things smaller, changing ingredients, hoping we're too stupid or addicted to their stuff to care....I can't wait for the backlash which certainly should come.....:)

I absolutely love this sunscreen. It’s a mineral sunscreen which is exactly what we want. No chemicals here. It’s so much better for your skin. The active ingredient is zinc oxide, it’s water resistant and fragrance free because I really don’t want to smell a whole bunch of fragrance on my face. Even my husband loves it and wears it all the time. He is a skin cancer survivor. Highly recommend!
