Decent emergency shovel
This is a decent emergency shovel. It's not really big enough for any serious work, but it's compact and doesn't take up much space, which makes it good for hiking, camping, emergencies, etc. I still have my old trusty military issued Ames e-tool, and I wanted another, cheaper one to leave in my car. The military issued Ames sell for double, if not more than this one here on Amazon. It's hard to justify the price for an entrenching tool. Some differences between this and the Ames, is this one has a little more aggressive saw teeth. It also has a shiny finish compared to the subdued finish on the Ames. Locking mechanism is a little different, and I'm happy to see it looks like they used Locktite on the bolts on this iChewie. Also, the head of this one is a bit more round, while the Ames has a more defined angle.Overall for the price, this is a decent shovel. I do not know if it will take the same amount of abuse as the military issued Ames e-tool, but it feels pretty durable. In the Army though, we beat the snot out of our e-tools and they held up great to the abuse. I can't count how many foxholes I dug with that thing, and how many roots I had to chop through. If this one is even half as durable and a genuine Ames, then this will be more than adequate for my camping needs. Given the price point, this is something I can leave in my car all the time and not worry if it disappears. I know in this day and age there are several e-tools on Amazon around this price point. I can't speak to the quality of the other folding shovels, but so far I'm impressed with this one. We will see how it holds up this Summer when I'm camping and hiking a lot. If any issues arise down the road, I'll come back and update this review.

Very convenient folding shovel
My wife and I live in a rural desert region. Though I'm guessing most people are buying this shovel for use in areas that get snow, we carry one for sand. You can easily get stuck in sand banks on rural roads. My wife had a small shovel she carried in the car for this purpose and it was such a hassle! Drove me nuts. It seemed to always be in the way. So I got her this one. It's a much better solution! The shovel fits in a surprisingly small carry case, like shown in the product photos. It seems well made. The adjustment to lock the handle and blade in place is straightforward - just keep turning. Righty tighty. She tested it out herself in hoe mode and shovel mode, and it passed. Yes! No more dirty, bulky small shovel rattling around in the back of the car. This is a great tool for sandy or snowy regions, and a nice camping shovel, too.

Good, sturdy little shovel.
I got this little shovel to keep in my car, mainly, I will probably use it in my backpack while camping too. It is a sturdy little shovel and hefty. It weighs a little over 2 lbs., which can be a lot carrying it in your pack. But, it will work better on jobs needing a more heavy duty tool than just one needed for a potty hole. The serrated edges will be good to hack through small roots or vines. They seem too big and dull to be useful for any type of sawing of wood, even small pieces. It seems to be very good quality and construction. You could effectively defend yourself with this shovel, it would probably give someone a severe bruising. I do have a bit of trouble unfolding and folding the handle part, I have to struggle with it every time. The twist part that tightens the angle of the shovel head seems the only cheap part time. It is made of plastic and it seems to take forever to tighten and unscrew it. Once you have that plastic nut tightened down sufficiently, the shovel stays in place, extended or folded. Once extended, the shovel performs as expected, and better than some lighter foldable shovels. More pleased with this emergency shovel than not.

Great little shovel.
This is a great little shovel. I ordered it for my husband. He keeps it in his truck for emergencies. It is very compact, sturdy and easy to use.

great shovel to have
This shovel is light weight but is well constructed. I like how it folds down to fit under my seat in my pickup, this is a nice shovel for the just in case moment that you get stuck. I like the serrated edge that you could saw small branches if you are camping or to put out the camp fire. The price is good and I recommend the shovel.

Rides in the truck box
Mine skated by QC unsharpened somehow. Not a big deal but just another thing to do. It compacts down quickly and the same to deploy. Quite handy to have; you never know when your going to need one.

Decent foldable shovel
Picked up this shovel to replace one that we lost during an unfortunate canoe capsize in the James Bay a few years ago. This shovel is a decent size, somewhat bigger than the older one I had, and has some weight to it. Not one I would consider backpacking with if I were going ultralight. But that aside the shovel holds well in its expanded state - meaning that it doesn’t easily collapse during normal use. I liked the addition of “teeth” on the shovel for sawing - I’d rather have a hatchet on hand, but in a pinch if you needed some shavings to start a fire I can see that being a useful inclusion. Overall, a good shovel. 5/5

Easy to Pack Folding Shovel
This folding tactical-military inspired shovel is a solid performer. Black powder coated steel is thick enough not to fail and the locking ring allows for folding and unfolding to fully extended or to lock shovel head at 90 degree angle for use as a pick to chop through hard soil. The shovel head has a saw tooth edge and a serrated edge although they are not sharp enough for effective cutting. Shovel folds out to approximately 24 inches and folds down compactly to fit in it’s black nylon cover. Cover has a hook and loop type closure and an attachment loop for a backpack or belt.

Super Teil

Great little shovel!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great little emergency shovel. It comes well packaged. Inside the box is a little black storage bag to keep it neat and prevent scratches. The shovel folds out and is secured by turning the screw (can't think of a better word) clockwise as you look down on the shovel, as if ready to use it.To pack it away, simply unscrew it and fold it back up, then pop it back in the bag for safe storage until next time. This is a great item to have in the car in case you get stuck in some mud or snow, or to take on a camping trip, etc.It seems sturdy and is good quality. I'm happy with it and am putting it in the boot 'just in case'!

Ingenioso sistema de plegado. Muy resistente.
The media could not be loaded. Totalmente recomendable.

Dimensioni ridotte,leggera e solida pala
The media could not be loaded.
