GBC MultiBind 208 Multifunctional Binder, 8 Sheet Punch Capacity, 125 Sheet Binding Capacity, A4, Blue, 4400110

I was looking for a multibind that worked easily as a wire bind or a comb bind, but it works perfectly well as a glorified comb binder, it does not punch the round holes for a wire bind making it fiddly to insert the wire; misleading product name. A cheaper comb binder would have been just adequate.

If you're buying this binding machine for occasional use then it's not a bad choice. I had done my research on binding machines and this one which is able to do both comb and wire binding, caught my eyes. For the price you wouldn't expect anything more than sort of a medium-range product, compared to some more portable and cheaper alternatives. However, there are a few things you need to be aware of:1. The manual doesn't really help very much for the first operation. Many things that appear to be straightforward after spending some time working out, such as how to release the handle, should be included in the instructions.2. The manufacturer claims that punching capacity is 8 sheets. I find it difficult to do more than 4 normal print papers. Now I only punch 3 sheets at a time. On the machine it also says maximum 1 PVC sheet (cover). I put one in and couldn't press it down, and had to move the binder to the floor and press very hard to complete the job.3. Because of the design the binder does take a bit of space. This isn't a problem if you intend for it to sit on a shelf or on a large desk so it's suitable for a small office. If you're a student I would suggest you buy a more compact one for term reports or dissertations.

Quite lightweight for a binding machine and extremely easy to use. Also like the fact that you can do 4-hole punching on it!

Purchased this as it binds up to 14mm wires and combs although this is with 21 slots as it punches for the plastic combs and GBC have made wires of 21 as well.I was happy with that until I saw the price of the 14mm wires, they are over 4 times the price of 34 hole 14mm wires. So I decided to purchase a 34 hole up to 6mm binder (Papermonster WB6 399901 Binding Machine ASIN B003P276X4) and the cost of both these machines is still less than that of a 34 hole up to 14mm binder. The build quality of this machine is ok, it's not of such a high standard of the other one I purchased, although it appears that that one is no longer availible now). All in all I'm quite happy with my 2 purchases. I would agree with one of the other reviewers that this does need a fair amount of effort to punch 4-5 pages, but then again this is punching slots and not holes so more effort would be required.

yes a great machine if you bind comb but for wire no place to put wire means a fiddle to put pages on a bad design flaw machine returned for refund

Does everything it needs to do in a very compact space. For home use only not for business use. Does the comb binding and wire binding. You have to use the special wire combs which are the same format as the plastic combs but works fine.

j'ai choisi ce modèle plutot qu'un autre eu égard aux commentaires laissés sur le site. Déçue car on galère à mettre les reliures plastiques et à relier. Peut être est-ce un modèle très résistant mais pas adapté aux petites reliures
