Decent equipment ruined by a few design flaws
Reasonably solid construction, useful attachments. Decent instructions, took 5-6hrs to assemble. Stable setup when loaded with plates, doesn't shake with attachments e.g. TRX cables. Good design with cables on the side instead of in the center, so you can do movements inside the cage without butting your head agains the cable (much better than my last cage in this respect). The main issue is the J-hook/attachment holes are low height, so if you're over 5'8", you'll struggle unracking/racking the bar for squats and barbell presses. Back plate storage rack works, but a bit clumsy if moving 25kg plates from the back as opposed to if they were on the side. The bench is solid with decent upolstry, but short: if you're over 6" your head will hang over the end. Also, the cage and pulleys are rated for a relatively low weight capacity: if you're even moderately serious, you'll outgrow the weight capacity. After another ~3 months of use, I'm convinced I should have gone with another solution. The main issue remains the low height of the J-hook holes (you can technically drill higher ones, but why would you need to do this?), but I've encountered a few other perplexing design choices/issues. 1) with the plate rack on the back, you don't have the space to do a few common exercises on the smith machine: shoulder press and squad. 2) if you're even moderately advanced, the weight on a single pulley drop will be too little for you and you'll need to by a bar/attachment to combine both cables thus doubling the weight. 3) the J-hooks seem to be at weird intervals. I'm 5'11" and on bench, the J-hooks are either a bit too high or a bit too low for comfort when liftin the bar off. 4) again, the bench is strangely short. I've actually bought another bench which as a bonus came with attachments which this one doesn't.Edit 2: I decided to drill holes about 3 inches higher on the back beams so the bar drops are now at a comfortable height. Issue fixed now with the drop height, although the low weight limit and shortness of the included bench still stand.
