CHPN Exam Practice Questions: Unofficial CHPN Practice Tests & Review for the Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse Examination

I didn't realize this book is literally just two practice tests (300 questions altogether) with explanations at the end. I found this a little disappointing, as I had expected some content prep as well.However, practice questions are going to be your best friend during test prep, so this book was still probably worth it. And, as someone else mentioned, a lot of these questions were very similar to what was found on the test. Make sure you read all the explanations, even the ones you got right. That's where you might glean extra little bits of knowledge. For example, the subject of one question on the exam was very similar to one in the book, but the details of what they were asking were different. If I hadn't read the explanation in practice, I would have known why one choice was wrong on the test, but not necessarily which choice was right.I probably will sell this book back, because I don't think it has long-term value, but I'm glad I used it. And, FWIW, I did pass my test!

I tried another cheaper iPhone app that was disappointing and unhelpful. Then I bought this e-book (1st set) and it was superb. The answer explanations were in-depth, there were no errors that I could find in the test questions or answers, and the 150 questions felt like the actual test. I got 142/150 correct, but other reviewers have noted that this practice test is easier than the 2nd one by the same publisher. I bought the 2nd set and was definitely disappointed by the questions (lower quality, sometimes contradictory or unclear) and the answer key explanations (poor rationales, incorrect information, and/or information that contracdicted the official HPNA Core Curriculum guide). I should not have bought the 2nd set, only the 1st set. Caveat emptor!

I wanted this for a refresher review. Broken down in two sections, their it was ready for me to focus on each section. The explanations to the questions make it more understandable as to how the questions are being asked.

In all honesty, I can't be disappointed. I actually bought this to try and study for the ACHPN because there are no test banks for the advanced practice test. The Kindle version was cheap, so I decided to give it a whirl. The questions are not challenging and there are only 150 total. It's fine though, and I don't remember finding glaring mistakes or anything.I did think the Kindle layout was irritating when I wanted to check my answers, but someone who were more invested (or organized) could have written their answers down elsewhere. I like to keep things in an electronic format to save paper, but that's just my style.

The review questions are awesome and the explanations provide a great deal of information! This is a great review. I will take my exam in December and I feel like these practice questions are going to help me pass the first time!

Great book! The book contains multiple choice questions address material required to pass the CHPN test. It hasn't been easy finding time to study while working full-time as a nurse with a family at home. Luckily, the content of this book is clear and concise so I don't feel time has been wasted. Answers are provided in back with rationale. I'm so glad Amazon had this book in stock! Totally worth every penny and more!

This Kindle edition was helpful when I taaught a 2 day certification program. Some of the questions could have been more difficult, but the attendees got a sense of the format of the test. The answers in the back of the book had really good information. If the participants read all of those (150) explanations, they would learn a lot.
