Was fine for the 10 months it lasted, now its dead in the water - literally
This pumped fine for 10 months, but it now refuses to pump. I have verified it is free of debris - as best I can tell the water sensor has failed which I believe is the little metal nub on the outside. I've cleaned it off but if the pump starts at all it stops a few seconds later. Since the pump is hard wired to the panel and the pump cannot be opened to check the water sensor internally it is now dead in the water, literally. My neighborhood birds are demanding a replacement so I contacted the company via support email to see if they will help me or honor the 1 year warranty and send a replacement. After one week there was no response but the company did respond to a product question on Amazon about pump replacements - they said they would respond to my support request. I resent my email to their support and another week has passed with no response. Disappointing.Unfortunately one flaw of this pump is the pump is hard-wired to the solar panel. If it wasn't they could just send me a new pump - the panel, battery, and charge controller are probably most of the cost of this unit anyway so it's a waste to replace the entire thing. If you are shopping for a solar fountain I recommend you look for one where the pump is not hardwired to the panel.Since Poposoap are not responding to my support emails I will have to cut the cable, check the voltage the panel produces and look for a replacement pump.

Excellent bird bath fountain with backup battery
This solar fountain pump is great and the battery backup is a must have. The battery will keep it working when there is no sun that hits the solar panel. Very easy to clean the sponge filter which I do once a week. Also using an algaecide helps with keeping the algae in check. There is also an adjustable slide to vary the amount of water coming out but it is purely mechanical and not electrical.Update: After 3 months, the first fountain pump had issues with the battery not holding a charge and the pump no longer working when the sun was not hitting the panel directly. I messaged the seller and they sent a full replacement in a day or so. The second pump and battery is working great. Excellent customer service!!

Works well, but wire is fragile.
We bought this solar-powered fountain to get water movement in our birdbath, which is in a shady location. The solar panel is velcro'ed to the top of a fence about 10 feet away and gets no direct sun until late morning because it faces mostly West.Every morning I am surprised to see the fountain running well before 8 am, when there's no direct sun on the solar panel. The photos were taken around 7:30 am.This is a great setup that would be still better if there were more non-splash options for the fountain, for those of us with smaller birdbaths. With most of the spray options, water splashes outside of the birdbath and needs frequent replenishment. If you have a larger (more than 18" across) area of water, the assortment of nozzles should be excellent. The suction cups on the pump could be better, and they likely won't work at all with an unglazed concrete birdbath. This setup has many features that others don't. For example, the pump is safeguarded by shutting off when there's insufficient water. The solar panel is efficient, requiring little light to power the motor. There's a battery to keep the fountain running when there is insufficient light. And having the remote solar panel means more flexibility in locating your birdbath. It need not be in the sun.Unfortunately, the wire somehow got damaged in the first 6 weeks we owned this fountain. The conductors inside the outer insulation are very, very thin. We made one repair successfully, but the second one didn't hold and we noticed additional damage to the wire's outer insulation that stopped the fountain from working. I got in touch with the company and they promptly shipped a replacement under their liberal warranty terms. The new fountain is up and working, and I greatly appreciate the customer support. If you buy this, I'd strongly suggest that the wire not be allowed to trail on the ground where it might sustain damage. And a note to the manufacturer: consider upgrading the quality of the wire used between the solar panel and pump in this product.

Cable to solar panel IS NOT 16.4 ft long!
The listing says the cable from the pump to the solar panel is 16.4 ft long, though when measured, it’s actually only 9.4 ft. I sent a message to the seller about this over three weeks ago, but I still haven’t received a response. This is a great disappointment, as I really needed the cable to be the 16.4 ft length I believed I was buying.Other than the listing’s inaccuracy about the cord length though, the pump itself has been running fine so far. There’s no switch for adjusting the strength of the pump’s flow, and the backup battery attached to the solar panel doesn’t hold much of a charge past sunset (even after charging all day in bright, unobstructed sunlight). However, that’s okay for my purposes, as I only need it running during the day for hummingbirds. At most, it will run for an hour after dusk, and that’s it. It also seems to run fairly well on lightly overcast days. I’ve yet to see how its performance is during moderate or heavy cloud cover.

Solar pump that works
This is what I was looking for. Put it in a fountain which doesn’t have electric access. Has enough power to run the water fall, even on cloudy days. As an example we have a rainy day as I’m writing this and the pump is still running.

Failed after 2 season.
Worked great for 2 seasons. Purchased July 2023, put it away for the winter and now it doesn't work at all. The back is sealed so batteries can't be replaced.
