Number one piece of exercise equipment
Number one piece of exercise equipment I have been going ot the gym for the last few years but I have steered clear of weights of any variety, mainly because I did not feel confident to deal with them Recently I took up body pump which gets you used to light weights and going through a routine of repetitions. I realised that I would have to build some muscle if I was to improve my fat burning. I have been a few times and after the initial leg aches through squatting with weights I am now quite confident that I know what I am doing. The gym also gave a free demo on kettle bells. I have never seen of heard of kettle bells so I went along for a 30 minutes demo. The main activity that its different from anything else is the swing whereby you hold the kettle bell with both hands and use the strength of your legs to increase the swing between your legs and maybe up to chest height. It is your legs not your arms which you have to get used to. I did that a few times and found the technique different. The other parts of the exercise programme are like other weights but it is a handy manageable size and you don't have bars and weights to keep changing or thinking about. My partner moans that I have a sit up machine a medicine ball and a couple of 3kg dumbbells in the front room even though they are mainly out of sight. As a result she told me I wasn't allowed to buy fitness equipment that would take up space or not be used. The beauty of the kettle bells that it takes little space and is very versatile. The worst thing that can happen with it is to use it as a door stop. After my introduction my inner thigh muscles ached for the next four days so it did something. I watched all the videos on YouTube of the kettle bell and also on Muscle TV. I read the reviews and decided to get a 8 Kg which is not the smallest but should be challenge for a nearly sixteen stone weakling like me. It arrived the other day and I w as very pleased with it. I am keeping it in my office to allay any criticism my partner. It takes up little space and only a few repetitions will have the heart pumping. On Muscle TV one of the presenters went through her top ten pieces of exercise equipment and the kettle bell came out at number one All in all a great piece of kit. Highly recommended

Good for beginners
I lost 7 stone after being diagnosed with diabetes in 2021. Although I've gotten my weight where I'd like it. I've lost most of my muscles. These kettlebells are ideal. One word of caution. If you're a beginner, like myself, resist the temptation to buy too high a weight of kettlebell. I bought two 12kg kettlebells, and believe me, after 5 mins of trying them out, I'd used muscles that I'd forgotten I'd had 🤣. And make sure you watch a YouTube video, showing you the correct way to do beginners exercises. As you could cause yourself harm, by not following a gradual regime. If used properly, these bells will burn fat, and build muscles. So all in all, a very good product. Also comes with a chart, showing various exercise techniques. But again, be careful as these may not be suitable for beginners.

Great but only up to 12kg max!
This range of kettlebells by York are top quality. Alot of the other reviews mention the edges of the plastic being quite sharp on your hands but I didn't find this with the few I bought. They're well made, solid and safe as houses. The only problem I can see, and this can be said for all vinyl kettlebells, is that as the weight goes up so does the size. Iron kettlebells are alot smaller and more comfortable to work with but because these are vinyl and filled with sand they're an awful lot bigger. So much so that when doing some exercises the sheer size of the thing can become quite unaccommodating and you'll soon be bashing it into your sides/arms/legs etc. I would say 12kg is about as big as I'd like to go and anything under (I also have 8 and 10kg) is fine and with each kettlebell you'll get a very large poster with alot of different exercises on which is very helpful. I would recommend these to anyone but if you're looking at the heavier options go for one of the more expensive iron kettlebells. God only knows how big the 20kg vinyl kettlebell must be!!

Excellent value for money
This kettlebell is good quality & easy to handle. The handle is nice & wide..really easy to grip. I'm extremely fit & workout on a regular basis & find that this is too low a weight for just doing reps, but is perfect for long Kettlebell aerobic workouts. It's heavy enough to give some resistance & whilst doing a 40 minute workout you can really feel it!! Some people recommend using a higher weight whilst doing a workout, but I think it would be harder to maintain a full Kettlebell aerobic routine unless you've worked-up to that weight over a period of time. So...great for a full-on workout, but too low a weight for just reps.

It's 8KG!
OK, so I admit I bought this thinking it was 8lb. It was a stupid oversight and when it arrived I was having a particular bad back day, so the delivery man was kind enough to take it upstairs. It looked a lot huger (and was definitely a lot heavier) than the one I saw at the shop on my high street. Eventually, and when my back was better, I took it the extra flight of stairs up and opened it. Nice colours, a good product and not too bad to lift up, but it was still bigger than the one I saw in the shop. A puzzler. I went back to the shop on my high street to check. The other one had 8lb on it and a lot easier to carry. The penny did not drop till I went back home and checked my one. D'ah! That said, I am happy for the mix up. I ended up buying the 8lb one too. Each has different uses.

This kettle bell is a good weight for lighter exercises. There are 'feet' on the bottom of the kettle bell to ensure that the floor or surface that you place them on is not damaged by these. The handle is good for a variety of grips, especially if you want to get a weight that you can use for multiple exercises - squats, tricep dips or shoulder raises. They are comfortable to use, not cushioned but comfortable to grip. They are easy to clean too. They are not too tall, so store away easily. I've had these for a while and use them with clients (I'm a personal trainer) and in our home. They have held up really well to being transported to client's and back again. The colours have held true too, so they don't show wear and tear like other weights I have do. I am looking at this brand to purchase other weights also. A well-known brand with a good quality product.
