If you have ever had the thought "I'd like to use solder on that connection but I don't feel like running a drop cord out", buy this. I had one job where I had to solder in a tight space and couldn't hold the solder to the back of the wire so I bought this. It worked great for that. I did not think I would use after that job, but I've found myself soldering where I would have otherwise used crimps because it's just so quick and easy to grab some shrink wrap, pop on a battery, and get to work.

This little tool feels a little bit cheep but works great, I didn't think it would be as good as it is.Comes with no instructions but very very easy to figure out.It arrived 10 days before the earliest shipping estimate, that was great. 👍Works with DeWalt 20v battery. 👍I just can't believe how quickly I got used to not holding the soldier and with no cord it's a game changer for working on cars + everything around the house. 👍👍👍👍👍I will definitely recommend it to all of my friends and family.😁

I’m a DeWalt guy, and this tool helps so I can hold both wires when soldering mic cables, etc. I like it better than using the alligator clips to hold the wires. Several of my tech buddies have bought them after using mine.

Wire lead constantly stuck on feeder

YOU HAVE TO GET USE TO THESE GUNS, NOT TRY TO FEED THE WIRE TWO FAST, ALL SO THE WIRE NEED TO BE SMOVE ON THE REEL. GREAT LITTLE GUN,,

I wasn't expecting much from this because of the cheap price but it actually works very well, have used it quite a few times and I really like it.

I don't use soldering guns very often, mostly soldering irons on a bench. But sometimes what I am working on can't be brought to the bench. And running extension cords is a pain in the backside.I found that using large DeWalt batteries was very awkward because the soldering gun/battery combo was too heavy to hold comfortably. When I switched to a smaller 2.0 Ah battery, that was a lot easier to handle.I didn't use the solder feed reel though. I've been soldering for too long and prefer to feed it with my other hand. While it took a bit of getting used to, it got the job done which is the most important thing.
