Q: How thick is the table top on the adjustable height folding table? need to use a clamp that opens to max. 1.5" with it.

You need to be aware this has only a 30# load and if you are using items in a clamp often the actual force say grinding something or sawing something or even holding some types of items exceed the strength of 30# and one small area around a clamp also may not be rated as good as 30#. I suspect you could secure a solid piece of wood the entire size of the table and then clamp through that. The leg load would still be 30# however and now you've added a heavy piece of wood not to mention what ever is being clamped down or to be worked on via a vice clamped down. I'd look for something much more stable. Or perhaps look at those collapsible saw horses which are meant to hold more weight if what you are doing is industrial or construction oriented. I wouldn't put my Singer Slant 500 machine on this and expect it to handle my sewing for any length of time. Not even if I secured a sold wood top to it first. The legs are decent for a TV tray or a light camping tray but it's not industrial or strong like most TV trays it's not intended to be everything to every personal need. Hope you found the idea table you had in mind by now...I'm aware your question is nearing 5 years ago.
