Lots of bass but that is it, very minimal highs, should have returned them and bought something else.

About ten years ago I bought a pair of Sony wired ear buds and they are my first love. The are in the same earbug + can shape that Sony still sells for under $50 but the newer ones are OK but no where near my first love. I have been looking for replacements and have been nothing but disappointed spending up to $100. My first loves seem to have a failing speaker (needed to be cleaned) so I was energized to search again. These from Phillips come very close to my first loves. They are a bit smaller and lighter. The Sony gets a little more base but what the Phillips does is very good, anyway. Try Johnny Cash singing The Sound of Silence or one of the bass choirs singing sea chanties. The Phillips may have a little more treble but I will leave that to those with ears younger than my 80 year old ones. For the price, they are beyond outstanding, better than any other I have found period (except for my first loves). I may get some more for spares and to replace the inferior ones I have scatterd around the house, car, luggage, etc.
