A WW2 ROLLER COASTER!
Sven Hassel, Jack Higgins and Bernard Cornwell are my usual sort of writers but I’ve read ALL of their works cover to cover so I was looking for something new. I was a bit hesitant because I hadn’t heard of this author before but I was pleasantly surprised with how good Bloodstones Fury was.I didn’t warm to the main character to begin with but after a few chapters I changed my opinion completely. I think it was finding out about his past and what had shaped him that made me see him in a different light and really start rooting for him. Looking back, maybe that was part of the writer’s intention all along. The descriptions of the people and places are excellent and it was so easy to picture the scenes and really feel that I was 15000 feet up in the air fighting the Luftwaffe or running through the forests gunning down Nazis with my MP40. The action was non-stop and whenever I was expecting one thing to happen, then something else transpired instead, which kept me wanting more. In some parts it was funny, in others it was brutal and in some it made me squirm.I’m looking forward to a sequel, although I hope there’ll be a future instalment that covers some of the earlier WW2 events that are alluded to in the story. If you like your war stories fast, furious, easy to read and full of action then I’d recommend that you try this book.

Brilliant husband gift!
Bought this for my husband for Christmas, he was raving about it so I read it too! Definitely not my usual cup of tea but I loved it. Serious, moving but laugh out loud funny too, with loads of action and I learnt a lot about a subject that I knew nothing about! Buy it for your hubby too!!

Not quite what I was expecting. It trots a long at a good paceThe plot is somewhere between - Biggles, Allo Allo, The Larkins and a 1970's porn script. In places quite gruesome and in others stretches credibilityWould I read more maybe

Excellent read
Exhilarating read! This is Jacob’s first novel, but he has complete control of his story and his style. Weaving together fascinating details of WWII history, suspense and humour, Bloodstones antics had me completely engrossed in his quest for vengeance. Well written!
