Knights costume - King Arthur style
I have just received the outfit this morning and am impressed.Needed to have a Knights outfit for our youngest ones school play (well not being much of a seamstress) and the outfit being needed in less than two weeks, much searching done and outfit purchased and best of all done in just a few clicks of a mouse. Cheers of delight in the Degg household as they all know I hate sewing even if it is for the school play. The outfit had to have a St George's Cross on it (as there are many knight outfits about, but not all having the cross on them). The outfit consists of a red material cloak (cape), it doesn't say on the website what it is made of and did think before receiving it that it might be plastic of some description, but no it is material and has two silver coloured buttons with a chain and velcro to hold it in place. This could also be reused with another item to make another costume at some point.A top with St George's cross on it, velcro at the back but not all the way down the back, so at least it can't come undone and make your youngster blush. It has sleeves and again looks well made.Chain like material trousers with an elastic waist, these are slightly see through though because of the nature of the material (but shorts could be worn underneath if need be) also the top is a length to cover up slightly anyway).A hat again in the same chain like material as the trousers, a belt, gaiters (these have elastic on to keep them on the feet) and gauntlets, these arm bits do have velcro on so size should not be an issue. All in all just the thing for any Knights out there.Price wise a good buy, I ordered mine only on Tuesday afternoon and here this morning Friday so not bad at all.It looks the part and also looks as though it will get a few more uses out of it after the school play. Some items on the web can look better on the web, but this is an exception, this looks better in the flesh so to speak.Son hasn't seen the real thing yet, but saw the item on the web, he was more than happy with the look of it especially the cape. So I know a eight year old who will be dressing up as a knight tonight.

Perfect apart from. . . .
This is a great outfit for your little knight, getting lots of attention when we visited a castle for the day.Though, I ordered aged 9 - 11 as they were out of stock of the aged 6 - 8 (thinking we could turn up the bigger size) but you need the bigger size. We have a small 7 year old (normally in clothes for 6 year olds), and the trousers were tight around the waist and short in the leg. being made of thin 'itchy' material you have to wear trousers beneath them. The head thing was way to 'itchy' to wear so that went in the bin. The belt was plastic and didn't have a belt buckle (as seen), but the cloak and tunic are great! The chain is a nice added detail as were the gauntlets and boot covering although a great addition, the elastic that holds them on snapped as they were first put on.In all, a great dress up costume for any visit to the castle and around the house!

Outfit for King Arthur party
The outfit was perfect for my grandson's 6th birthday party which was themed as King Arthur and the knights of the round table. He wanted to be King and a knight so he wore this outfit, with a crown and a king's shield. He did not mind that it was actually a crusader outfit, to most kids a knight is a knight. Of course it is not very durable but you would not expect that for the price, but it stood up to an afternoon of extreme party games, and we have packed it away for future parties. If you wanted it for an outdoor party, wear real boots rather than the plastic covers which could be slippery if they got wet.

Great buy
Bought for an 8 year old for a school play. My boy is taller than most and quite broad so wasn't sure it would fit but it was perfect and he absolutely loved it.

Bought for a fancy dress party - . Read reviews before buying so wasn't too surprised at quality which was poor in places - a shame because overall gives a reasonable impression of a knight. Should have used a ribbon for 'red cross'...used fabric that had not been hemmed or neatened so is fraying already - and it hasn't been worn yet!! . Doubt it would fit an average 8 year old- it was bought for a 4year old based on reviewers comments,( thank you for advice) and the neck opening will need enlarging.Agree with other comments about the 'chain mail' fabric- itchy and need to wear something under it - beware the velcro when dressing the child because if it touches the material it sticks to it and then frays/makes holes when trying to remove it . Having said all that - doubt whether the recipient aged 4 yrs will care too much. A greater sucess was the shield and sword which we bought - as the picture of 'knight' showed a sword, but doesn't come with the outfit...although if you read detail thoroughly it does state this - but when a child looks at the picture they will not realise that, so that was an additional cost. Will be interesting to see how the outfits looks after the fancy dress party.

Cheap & badly made
Got this for my 6 year old for Christmas, so we have only had it 10 days or so & he has worn it 4 or 5 times. Its already falling apart & frayed. The seams coming apart at the sleeves, the cross on the tunic is frayed, like an old scrap of material was used. He has a few costumes which have stood the test of time - even handed down from his brother. I have never seen anything deteriorate as quickly as this! Don't buy!p.s. he likes it though, & as a little boy, does not notice these annoying factorsp.p.s tunic sent is not like it is in pic!!!

A super dressing up costume
A great little costume which is easy for a child to wear as most of the main component part can be easily pulled on. It has given hours of imaginative fun and create a good introduction to learning simple facts about medieval times. Reasonably priced and delivered promptly.

just awful like something in from a sale bin in a £1 shop :-(
Fell apart after a few hours. If the Velcro on it stuck any of the silver parts on the costume it pulled it all apart.. Half of it seemed to small the other far to big soo poor wouldn't recommend look for a different knight costume you'll only be disappointed with this one...
