Wax Melter for Candle Making, [8.5 Qts] Electric Wax Melter, Large Electric Candle Wax Melting Pot with Temp Control and Pour Spout for Small-Scale Commercial or Home Use

I make candles daily and am a candle maker. I have been using the RIEDHOFF wax melter for a short while now and am initially happy with the quality. It heats quickly and melts the wax evenly. Wax often heats higher than the actual number on the dial (this is common) and it is advised to have a knowledge of wax and use care to not underfill to avoid hazards. The drain is not at the bottom of the reservoir and instead at the side. When the drain on the side it often causes not all wax will come out when emptying. So far, this is a reservoir I will continue to use and update as time progresses as needed.

Every time turn on the spout, the liquid begins to spurt out the spout possibly and start dripping. The other defect may be similar, there is no way to prevent the metal handle from heating up to the point where it hurts my fingers and I have to use a cloth to pick it up. Can’t believe I have held on to this for so long.

The idea behind this melter is great, but the execution is awful. I have tried adjusting the temperature from the coolest option to the highest (in case it was possibly backwards) and I can’t get the wax temp to fall below the 230 degree mark once it’s fully melted. Unfortunately, I was already outside of the return window when I was able to use it for the first time, otherwise I would send it back for a refund. I guess I just have a very expensive paperweight. :(

In March 2023, I ordered the Riedhoff wax melter WX-12-VC. It worked well since that time, but just begun leaking. As it is within the 1 year timeframe listed in the manufacturer's warranty, I am requesting a replacement to this model.

I bought this because I am just really tired of buying candles; I burn so many so I thought it would be a good idea to start making my own. I already do DIY crafts et cetera around my house so this seems like a logical progression. I read a lot about wax melters and knew what I was looking for so when this popped up I was very excited to be able to get such a large unit right out of the gate.This unit works wonderfully! I haven't had any problems with it burning my wax or spillage or any of the issues that can come up with units that don't have accurate temperature regulators. The wax on the inside gets as hot as it's supposed to; the exterior stays reasonably cool so when handling the unit you don't have to worry about incidental contact.Not only is it beautiful but it's extremely functional. And because it's tall and narrow it is actually space saving for its size. Really happy I got this one.

This is an excellent wax melter and I'm very happy to try this product. The temperature control works very well and the spout also functions well. I like that it comes with a stirring rod. And the lid is very easy to remove and get back on. The wax stays melted for a very long time so this seems very efficient when it comes to the electricity usage. The size is perfect for our small business and if you are looking to invest in a wax melter for your small business than I would recommend trying this product.

This wax warmer works extremely well. I used soy wax in it and set it to 200 degrees. I had melted wax in what seemed like maybe 10 minutes. It really didn't take long to melt a couple pounds at all. Pouring is super easy buy you'll want some oven mitts because this machine doesn't play games. It comes out hot. The outside was surprisingly cooler than the heated wax but not the containers I poured into so some protection for your hands is a good idea. You can pour a lot of candles in one go with 8.5 quarts to do it with. Now, back to making more candles... I'm having fun with this.

When I run the machine, it always makes a strange noise. No longer afraid to use it.
