I'm seeing many poor reviews for this excellent product. I bought 6 last summer and found them both easy and reliable. For >£4 (at 71 years of age) I can raise and lower the baskets with ease. Recently I bought another 4 (total 10) and find all SIMPLE to use and reliable. I can only surmise that poor reviews result from FAILURE to read the accompanying simple instructions. I'm reviewing because I was re-ordering more and casually glanced at some reviews, which were very negative. Have to think 'professional reviewers' are at work. I re-iterate, these 'adjustable hanging basket pull downs' are well worth the buying. There, that's that off my chest. RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

Very useful for lowering hanging baskets.
These are very handy for lowering hanging baskets for watering and tidying, then raising again. They seem to not work when trying them in your hand, you need to have a basket and a hook or bracket on the wall to see how they function. These pull downs do not have a cord protector to protect the inch of cord that shows when fully retracted and hanging, and so if in a windy situation, the basket can spin and this can cause the cord to fray and break. Don't leave the pull down and basket unattended without fully retracting the cord.

A very expensive mistake hanging this poor quality product
This product arrived quickly. Had waited for nearly three weeks before my plants had matured before hanging, came home to find the whole lot had snapped and the plants lay broken on the floor and had smashed a pot underneath. A very expensive mistake hanging this poor quality product. Threw both hangers away and bought stronger ones. Very disappointed with quality.

hanging b asket pull down
Silly me I expected these pulleys to pull down AND RETURN otherwise there is absolutely no use for them. the first one would not even pull down and the second one pulled down and would not return. Absolute rubbish they both went in the bin the same day and I will certainky nit be buying from Amazon again

Compete and utter rubbish
It is puzzling that there are so many polarised views of this product. I thought I would be optimistic and buy 6 but I was wrong to do so. They are complete and utter rubbish. If trading standards were involved they should order the company to stop selling them, I know they are cheap but that doesn’t excuse the product being ineffective. They didn’t come with any so called instructions but it is clear to me how they are to be used, it’s just such a shame they don’t do what is in the description on the website. I do not know why Amazon continue to sell them. If I could give them no stars, I would do.

Not as sturdy as I hoped but they do their job
I ordered 2. Arrived quickly. Packaging ok. Thought they’d be sturdier. Using on hanging baskets that are lightly planted. Not sure they could cope with a full planted basket. Having priced like for like elsewhere they are value for money

Did not lock when I hung the basket had to put a couple of knots in it was too long bought another in Asda which was cheaper and it did lock

Internal mechanism rubbish
They worked for the first couple of waterings and then the Plastic parts of the pulley broke, two of them didn't work from the start so binned them. Yes they were cheap and lesson learnt, would not recommend. Have now gone for the expensive one's.
