Good product
If you are good in DIY, the installation shouldn't be an issue. There's a detail video link in the product description. After installation there will be 4 back paddle buttons available to program. I only need 1 button to use for back paddle which is X on controller. If you need to program L3 or R3, or touch pad you would need soldering. But if you want to map any other buttons no soldering is required for basic buttons

Ruined my controller, Disappointing
Despite having set up a previous controller with an older extremeRate kit this one ruined my controller. The Youtube tutorial although helpful can be confusing if you don't want to remap certain aspects of the controller. It also seems like the back case that they provided ran small as it was a struggle to refit the controller and it caused some issues. Furthermore, the kit itself didn't function as intended at the end despite setting it up throughly as the Youtube tutorial described. Overall, be careful when ordering and use a spare/old controller unless you're willing to run a risk of not having a controller to use.

Elevated my gameplay.
Back buttons work like a treat. There is a slight input delay however, it has improved my overall gameplay, especially as I cannot do the claw grip. There have been times where I have not been able to connect the buttons, but all it needed was a press from the pairing button. I would 100% purchase again if I ever wanted to mod a controller and save a couple bucks.

Ruined my controller
So I got my mate who is a electrician to do this with me, he soldered it, followed all instructions and the installation while a bit fidly is pretty easy. Turned it on following Extremerate very helpful youtube vid. I mapped my X button to the left back padel. Lights all indicated it had worked, tried the padel no action, tried my X button now that does not work either. Contacted extremerate just said send it back, now after removing all the parts and putting back together as it was before out the box and now everytime I want to play the X button only works after I reset my controller and my touch pad does not work. I mean I'll be happy if they want to replace my controller however I have a feeling they won't 🙄

An easy install. Plastic button are hard to use.
I've installed 6 EXR mods in the past and this was by far the easiest partly because Sony have made it easier which is great. I did solder the L3/ R3 mod in but didn't bother with the trackpad side of this. The only negative here are the back triggers themselves which, on the plastic version I bought, are incredibly sensitive. Initially I found that there wasn't enough travel on one side but I addressed this by loosing off two of the trigger housing screws to the back of the controller on that side, giving them a bit more travel. However, without having any weight to them they tend to dither a little when you release them. Other may well find this suits them fine though. I'd be interested in seeing a metal upgrade pack like those in the RMB version available separately. The second issue here is the inboard, smaller trigger button is quite a reach for the fingers so I'll have to see if I can learn to use them over time. Overall, very satisfied with very few reservations.
