BiMiHeavy Duty Replacement Chrome 9" Straight Gas Lift for an Office Chair

Easy enough to remove the old gas lift and fit this replacement. Plenty of helpful tutorial videos on YouTube.From the moment I first sat down on the chair with this replacement unit, it was obviously inferior/defective. A little initial cushioning , then it would jerk down about another inch. Getting off the seat resulted in a loud clunk as soon as the pressure released. No matter how many times I repeated this, it was the same.The piston was sticking and jamming throughout its full travel, needing weight to be shifted on and off the chair to try to get movement started again and unjammed.I have since replaced the unit with a Hartley's one from SDE Online ( ASIN B017DDK060 ). It works perfectly, just the same as the previous one I bought from them for my PC desk chair in December 2015. Cheaper too.

6 months in (purchased Nov 2017) I have that sinking feeling again.I may be a large gent (hence the heavy duty purchase) but I promise I am nowhere near the 250KG (39St) this is rated for.Would return under warranty but cant find the option to do so.

I own a £250 black leather executive chair and the gas lift died - at first I thought I put on excess weight??Bought this from Amazon - used Youtube instructions to help me fit this. My new gas lift is an inch longer than the original (7 inch) which was a great choice allowing you to levitate the chair much higher than before. However I wish I had gone for the 9 inch rather than 8.

I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a new chair so I decided to look for a replacement gas lift for the faulty one on my current chair. This product works absolutely perfectly.I had to use some WD40 and a heavy duty pipe vice to get the previous gas lift out of my chair so be warned you will be spending some time struggling with it but it is well worth it for the money savings if that is the only issue with your current chair.Overall great purchase I would recommend this product.

Nice quality looking item. Bought one slightly longer than the one i replaced for a little extra height. What a pain to get the old one off though ! Ended up taking the the bottom part off of the seat base/cushion to beat up with a Big rubber mallet to good effect.

A work colleague with a rather large posterior sat on my chair whilst I was on leave, and destroyed the gas lift mechanism. Bad dog!This has made my office chair feel like new, giving it a new lease of life. Removing the old gas lift unit required some easing oil (wd40) and a hammer, but once removed, fitting the new unit was very easy.If you have an office chair that you like sitting in, but which has been broken by a fat behind, you can't go wrong with one of these. Brilliant!

Took some effort to remove the old cylinders but fitting these was very easy. Breathed new life into the seats and were much cheaper than buying 2 new seats.

This piston saved a very expensive office chair from going to the dump. Super easy to fit without ant tools required. Great value for money
