Q: Do i need to buy batteries for these phones or is that a back-up for the phone not being plugged in at the mains?really dont want to be worrying about

This kind of phone comes fitted with rechargeable batteries. You need to keep the stand plugged in, so that the phone can charge when it's placed on the stand. Because the batteries are then charged, you can walk around the house talking on the phone. In theory the batteries can be replaced by other rechargeable batteries if they get so old that they start to drain too fast, but I've only known one person that happened to. The batteries supplied with these phones usually last for years without any problems.NEVER replace the rechargeable batteries with ordinary batteries.

Q: Does the phone have a message left alert continuous beep? so you can hear when a message has been left when you get home.

Yes, the phone does tell you when there's a message as it bleeps when you pick up the phone as well as the dialling tone.

Q: How many minutes recording time is there on the answerphone?

I went onto www.bt.com/producthelp and found the following information which I hope is of use: • The maximum length of time for a single message is two minutes. • Stores up to 20 messages • Messages stored for 60 days or 20 days if you've listened to them
