Strictly for kids
I picked this up without knowing too much about it or being familiar with the author, just because it sounded like it might be fun.Unfortunately it quickly became apparent that this is geared entirely towards children, and isn't really one of those "but adults will love it, too" books. The characters are too sketchily drawn, and the situations too quick to develop, for older readers to be satisfied. If I was about 10, I'd probably enjoy this. But as an adult, I got bored and stopped reading pretty quickly.I've given it 3 out of 5 because it would seem unfair to give it less, because it's not the book's fault that I'm really not the target audience.

Easy Read
I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to get my hands on the others...You meet the characters in their present, you learn about them as you go through the book, which I found highly refreshing.Which is a change from alot of other books I have read recently it has also left room for more information about the characters and their family past.I felt as a singular book it was fab and even though I can't wait for the next one I wasn't left with an unfinshed feeling more a wow how is this going to play out..If you like a bit of romance and fantasy not to heavy and at a good all around age group this is the book for you.Hope you enjoy as much as I have :)

Fantastic Start to a Awesome new Fae Series
'"Creepy Hollow?" He snorts. "Like Sleepy Hollow?""No, like Creepy Hollow. It has nothing to do with sleeping."'The Faerie Guardian is a freebie I picked up on kindle what feels like forever ago and it just sat on my kindle for so long unread. In my challenge this year to tackle my TBR list this one randomly ended up on my February TBR list and I decided to give it a go. Oh. My. God!!!! why the hell did I not read this book sooner? Within the first 2/3 chapters I was completely and utterly addicted. I couldn't stop reading. The Faerie Guardian follows Vi. Violet is a faerie training to be a guardian. A type of faerie that protects the innocents, usually humans, from the other types of fae that intend to hurt them. Determined to be the top of her class Vi has never done anything wrong in all the years of her training. Until she saves one particular human, who sees through her glamour and follows her back into the Faerie Realm. Embarking on a dangerous journey to take the boy back Vi finds herself developing feelings for this strange yet intriguing human. Can she let it go to save her place as the top trainee guardian or are matters much darker at play?Violet is without a doubt one of my favourite YA characters. She is super awesome. I love her kick-ass attitude, she is so snarky and awesome I really identified with her so much. I couldn't stop reading this book as I was dying to see what was going to happen with Violet.Enter the boys. Nate... I really liked Nate. He was cute and I really enjoyed his and Violet's scenes and growing relationship. However.... Ryn.... Ryn is a total ass! He's horrible and cocky... and I freaking loved him. His scenes definitely brought the humour to the book and I loved that. Ryn totally has potential to grow into my favourite character. I certainly think there's something behind his hostility that I can't wait to find out about. The Faerie Guardian has everything I could have wanted in a book. It has kick-ass heart stopping action and swoon-worthy breathtaking romance. I loved every second of it and I cannot wait to get my hands on the second book in this series 'The Faerie Prince'. Rachel Morgan is officially becoming a author to watch for me. I can't wait to see what happens next.'"I would have thought you’d pay more attention to your closest competition.""I would—if you were competition worth paying attention to."'

Very interesting, good use of reality within fantasy.
I loves the 'almost' sibling rivalry between Violet and Oryn. It reminds me so much of the rivalry between me and my younger sister.Violet's insatiable desire to emulate her mother spurs her on and drives the narrative of this story. Throw a strange boy in to the mix and you create the confusion, and the magic, that everyone experiences growing up.

Great fantasy read
What a fun fast paced book! From page 1 I was hooked. This story had so many great qualities. Rachel Morgan has a great imagination! How great would it be to apply make-up to our face with just the tip of our finger? All the characters were great!I just loved Violet's sassy sense of humour. I need a pair of her boots in my life!!!I enjoyed how the story played out for Violet, Ryn and Nate. Really looking forward to reading more from this series.Oh and Filigree? I need one of those in my life also. This book reminded me of The Iron King by Julie Kagawa. Although I think this is better :P and Amanda Hocking's Trylle series. My first read by Rachel Morgan.... Won't be my last.5*****

Fantastic start to an awesome trilogy
So, so happy I have stumbled across this book ( the first of a fab trilogy). If you loved the Iron Fey series by Julie Kagawa, you will also love this. Rachel Morgan has created a unique and amazing fantasy world with a strong and original plot with strong characters. Truly loved this story. My only niggle was Nate who I struggled a little with in terms of understanding but having now read the second and third book, this now all makes sense. I can not recommend this series enough and can't wait to read more from Rachel Morgan. I always think a good sign of how much I loved a series is getting that feeling of sadness when I have finished it and missing the main characters and I certainly felt that with these books!

The Faerie Guardian (Creepy Hollow)
Different take on the faerie genre with a few surprises, a lot of mystery involved and unexpected twists and turns. Nice to see some of the characters are 'normal' with very protective instincts hence learning valuable skills to survive and aid others. Quite a few love/hate relationships between the faeries and mentors, also liked the descriptive style of writing throughout by this author which made the story enjoyable. Looking forward to the next book

A generic boy-meets-girl story with faeries and drama
Well, that was underwhelming. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so hard for me to keep reading „The Faerie Guardian“, if I hadn’t just finished another, quite good first installment of a series about the fae. But I have and so, this book just doesn’t compare. Sure, this is YA and the other one was not, but nevertheless, it wasn’t good YA either. It’s the story of 17 year old faerie Violet, who is training to be a Guardian. Guardians are policing the faerie world, especially protecting humans from fae things that go bump in the night. And on one such an assignment, Violet meets a boy, he can see right through her glamour and follows her into Faerie. And form there on, things stop making sense. Violet is described as someone who cares about nothing in the world as much as her life as a Guardian. She repeatedly says that she has nothing else. Yet there is some random guy, who isn’t the least bit charming or interesting or whatever, yet she time and again risks her whole future for him. Well, what!? Yes. Said guy is more than he seems, but still nothing to write home about. And no, Violet‘s dedication to her Guardian life is stressed so deeply that her infatuation and her many too-stupid-to-live-decisions just don’t ring true. Nothing about her and Nate does. And the bad decisions keep coming. So many of them actually that there was the inevitable moment I thought: „You asked for it“ and couldn’t make myself care any longer for anything happening to our main character. The other characters aren’t fleshed out in any way, so they can’t add anything to the story. The plot is getting better and more interesting towards the end, but really not enough to hook me onto this series. Mostly it’s just watching Violet doing boring or stupid things and waiting for the fallout. Nope, this series is not for me. There is a lot better out there.

A great start to a series
The Faerie Guardian is book one in Rachel Morgan’s Creepy Hollow Series.Violet Fairdale is a 17 year old Guardian Trainee, Guardians are the police of the Faery world, they protect the humans and Fae who can not protect themselves, she thrives to be the top of her class. When Violet is sent on an assignment to protect a human boy from a reptiscilla, a Fae creature. But when the human can see through her invisibility and follows her to the Fae world, the perfect record and graduation she has worked hard to get is in jeopardy. But the human, Nate isn’t all what he seems.I really enjoyed this book, the twists, connections, friendships, enemies and betrayal is addictive and exciting. Some secrets are revealed that will have you shocked, the history between Violet and Ryn will have you on the edge of your seat hoping that it will be repaired. The characters development and growth is a sight to see.Violet is a kicka** heroine who is trying to be the top of her class, she has secrets from her past that make her who she is. She struggles with the feeling she has towards both Nate and Ryn, just when she thinks she has a handle on them something else happens and it’s in the air again.I wasn’t really a fan of Nate, she just seemed too excepting of what was happening around him, but then when things took a turn I was very disappointed and annoyed with him. But Im hoping he will redeem himself later. Ryn on the other hand he is the band boy and everyone secretly wants the bad boy, I didn’t understand the hatred between him and Vi until the end of the book but now I rooting for him.I’m looking forward to reading The Faerie Prince.

Promising start of a new YA fantasy series!
The Faerie Guardian tells the story of Violet, the perfect guardian trainee that ends up messing up an assignment by accidentally bringing a human boy into the faerie world. The plot of the book develops from there and gets more complex and the story develops. The Faerie Guardian really surprised me. From the beginning, I thought it was setting itself up to be a Violet and Nate story and I was okay with that. Halfway through the book, I noticed that was I was getting was better than that, it was a story about Violet’s journey to deal with the events in her past and present.Violet and Nate’s banter is entertaining and their relationship develops nicely if a bit fast, but something in my gut made me distrustful of him from the beginning and my gut was right. I won’t elaborate more on it to make this review spoiler-free. Get reading, if you want to know more!Ryn is very annoying from the start and his reasons for hating Violet are a bit unreasonable but he starts growing a bit on you by the end of the book. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book and finding out what happens next on Violet’s journey.Overall, this book was very fast-paced and action-packed got me coming back for more. Personally, I could have done with a small prologue with some kind of background information on the bigger story behind the faeries with special powers or something like that, but it was still a very good read.

Great Series
I really enjoy Rachel Morgan's books. She's a very talented author and her plots are rich with a bit of the unexpected. Her characters are easy to relate to. I've read 6 of the Creepy Hollow series and have enjoyed them all. The only downside to her writing is her cliff hangers. (So buy the set not just the one book.) Personally, I think a book in a series should have a proper ending, not a cliff hanger. This being said, when she does finish the series, her endings are so worth the story and well-crafted. Loved Violet's and Calla's stories and look forward to reading Emma's stories.

Faeries, Magic and Mystery
"Guild Role No.1: Never bring a human into the fae realm.""Guild Role No.2: Never reveal yourself to a a human." With wings and a wand and faerie dust?" Would it help if I told you that you make quite an attractive half-naked unconscious person?"

Faeries!
This was the first book that I had read about Faeries so was excited when this was suggested to me.It was a really interesting book, Violet is quite immature but she believes she is a badass, having had not the easiest life she gets caught up in being a guardian. She is very relatable thoughI loved the world building and the magical aspect of this was really interesting and was one of the reasons why I really liked the book and did make me want to read more faerie books. it was really creative and did at times that a teenager wrote it,Great easy read need to read what happens next

This is a good story, easy to read. However, I didn't really feel the pull to read more in the series. But easy to get to know characters and great story line. Maybe not my kind of story.
