Well designed and manufactured
I saw this fire basket at Lavender Hill Farms in northern Michigan and knew immediately I wanted one.As stated in other reviews, this basket allows the wood to burn more effectively due to the vertical orientation of the wood and the ability to get proper airflow. If enjoy a nice outdoor fire without constant tending of the fire, this is the solution. Very happy with this fire basket.Note: I have mine on an embedded brick base. Keeps the heavy basket from sinking after rainfall

Solid fire basket with some signs of early wearing
Several months have passed since purchased and the product appears well made. Substantial given the thick steel it is quite heavy, I wouldn’t consider it portable but the trade off should mean longer product life. Basket holds kindling, wood quite well and it does throw a significant about of heat. One observation is that a number of rust spots have developed not certain if this is a result of insufficient powder coat or wear due to usage (fires). Either way a bit surprising given it’s only been 3 months. Time will tell if it worsens or improves I’ll revise my score.

Fire Basket
Amazed at the speed of delivery. Glad I was not on hand when dropped of as this thing is HEAVY!!! So I will have no worries with someone trying to steal.Ordered on a Wednesday and Friday noon it was sitting there.Pro:#1. Heavy#2. Nice fire presentation#3 Throws serious heat. It was minus one when used in pictures and I was out there with out a chill.#4. Should last forever.Con:#1. Heavy. I felt bad for the delivery guy or gal. Glad I wasn't on site when arrived.#2. Embers..Even the slightest breeze stoked this thing. Causing a trail of embers..As you can see from the pictures it is the dead of winter when used. So I had no issues. But this spring I plan to dig a small pit and put this in it. That should help with the exposure to the wind..(I was using pine.)#3..Overloading..(My miss-use of product.) It will take some time to determine the right size wood to feed this with. I currently have a monster pile of Pine from an Amish Furniture Mill down the street to burn. As you can see the lengths were a little much. 2-3 feet. And the wood is soft so burns fast. Especially with a breeze. Split hard wood with 1.5 to 3 foot might serve it better. And might not topple over the top.Over all a great product and well worth the purchase.

Best Product of the Decade for me.
Very, very Thick metal! Saves tons of wood reducing pollution, concentrating the heat, and providing oxygen under and around the fire resulting in the most beautiful fire imaginable.

I got one with Manufacturing defect on leg welds
One of the legs was welded on overtop of rust so it fell off during shipping. Had to return, which was a huge hassle because of the weight. If I get one of these without this defect it will be awesome. It’s smaller and heavier than I expected, but is very heavy duty and would probably normally be indestructible, if you get a good one it will last you.

Super firegrate
The media could not be loaded. This thing is awesome. Raises your flames, less smoke and more heat. I recommend placing it over a pit or having a stand that elevates it and having a tray underneath for coals and ash. Only bad thing is it is heavy to move and set up. But, it’s thick so it will last and not melt or rust away anytime soon.

For the serious pit users
Made strong, solid and heavy to hold your logs. It won’t move when dropping or turning logs. Perfect for my pit thats 3 ft deep that is used for cooking food or just for enjoying an evening fire. Recommend!!
