Spinning Reel, Lightweight 9+1 BB Ultra Smooth Fishing Spinning Reels Bonus Plastic Spool

This has been the best budget reel I have ever owned, the build quality is great, the drag works great, paired with 15lb braid it cast extremely well. I Have caught 3lb Bass with it on a $10 Walmart Durango Rod. I also own a $27 Zebco SPYN reel and the Magreel is just above and beyond in every category. Durability is TBD but I've owned for over a month and go fishing 3 to 4 times a week on freshwater lakes and ponds. So far it still feels brand new. If you want a cheap good budget reel just try it out, you won't be disappointed. Honest review and didn't receive anything for it.Update 11/2022, I dropped my rod on concrete from about 6ft and it chipped a little on the spool of the reel. I still used it and it was fine but if I had spent $300 on it I'd be super pissed at myself. But I could buy 20 of these for one expensive reel. Think about it........... just give it a try and really see if you catch more fish from the expensive stuff. I bet you don't lmfao

I bought 2 of these reels, one for my daughter for rock fishing, and one for my brother for lagoon and river fishing.Pros:So far, they have both been used twice and performed well in both saltwater, and freshwater. Good action, smooth wind and return. The bail feels sturdy and seems to handle abuse from a 10 year old well. Drag works as it should, easy fine adjustment on the top.Cons:Foam grip, not a fan, but my daughter and brother dont mind. Sometimes the bail hit my brother hand when receiving as well, so hand placement might depend on the pole its strapped onto. Not a big deal because it was intermittent, and he has big paws. Comes with a second plastic spool. The spool on the reel is metal. Nice to have a second spool, but probably wont use it since its plastic.Overall, good reel worth the money. I was honestly impressed because it feels solid. It rivals my okuma which was double the price. We will see how it holds up in the long run.

Seems to be put together really well and was smooth as butter!The only reason I didn't give it a perfect 5 star review is because the extra spool it comes with is not of the same build quality (it is made of plastic and has plastic tension spring inside of it). Other than that the only minor preference I would have is that the handle end would have a rubber coating instead of a foam one. All in all it is a great reel and should perform well when landing that massive fish!Disclaimer: I was invited to try the product and they helped me acquire it.

A great reel. I love it. Very smooth action and great casting distance. This thing reels very smooth and well balanced. Too bad I can't get more of them.

Like so many other products that I’ve been receiving from Amazon lately, this reel came USED despite the fact it was sold as new. It was quite obviously used as there are scratches on the base where it attaches to the rod, mud under the spool, crud in certain spots, and obvious fingerprints all over the reel. It also had small scratches in various spots. The box was not sealed, and obviously opened before by the way it was packed.Full disclosure I worked in an Amazon warehouse for a few months and saw this type of nonsense happen repeatedly. We were even told directly by our supervisors what was considered “new” Even if it was used by another customer. There were certain criteria that had to be met to resell the item as new, however because of strict quotas, everyone was flying fast and loose with those rules; in fact one supervisor called them “more like flexible guidelines than fixed rules”.The reel itself contains a mixture of metal and plastic parts, screws are cheep, and the extra spool is plastic. The gears however seem pretty well done, I’m not getting grinding and it engages smoothly. If you own any MagReel fly reels, don’t expect the same quality, however these are a little less than 1/3 the price so I guess you get what you pay for in the end. This will be my fourth reel by this company, however the other three I own are all for fly rods. It’s disappointing to see that they kind of got cheap on there spinning reels, and I would have gladly paid a little more for better quality like I did with their fly reels.At the end of the day I thought it was a steal before I received the reel, but after playing with it I’ll say it’s an OK bargain IF you receive a NEW one. Just don’t expect the same quality you get from their other products, then again it’s also priced less.

Ordered this to replace a Lew's Hank Parker that recently lost it's zero reverse. Feels solid, smooth, zero reverse. Has the line size I wanted on the 3000 series. Will give it a try next weekend and update. Good value if it holds up.

For the price & I got it on sale. It was a great purchase. Avid fisherman & own 16 rods & reels. This 1 was a steal. If I see it on sale again I'm gonna pull the trigger & get another 1. Paired it with a Berkley BSLR802UL ultra light rod & this reel kicks ass. Loaded it with 8lb test Trilene mono. Casts very well & retrieve extremely smooth. Drag is on point. I have no complaints whatsoever. I am blessed to live in Modesto, Ca & fish all over the San Francisco Delta, Bay & Offshore as well. Hats off to Magreel. They know how to build an inexpensive reel that I find to be just as good as the reels costing much more $. Thx
