How can I tell if an unopened can or bag of cat or dog food is still good?

The datecode on our plastic bags is located on the left gusset, near the 4 or 5-digit SKU number, toward the bottom of the bag. The datecode on our medium and large bags will be located on the top of the bag, generally the front flap.

How should I store my cat or dog’s dry food?

Bags of dry Science Diet, Healthy Advantage and Prescription Diet cat or dog food should be stored in a cool, dry environment under 100°F (38°C).

Good Food But Priced Out

This is great cat food and my cat did really well on it for many years. I'd keep him on it if I could. It's high quality which I liked. The only con is the price. I've been priced out, meaning I can't afford it anymore despite how good it is. I ended up researching foods to find a compatible and healthy alternative and arrived at Iams. I can get the same amount for half the price. Despite loving this product for my cat, it's come down to economics. If in the future the price of this becomes attainable again, I'll switch back, but until/if that were to happen, he's been doing fine on the other food and is still happy and healthy, and I'm not stressed about the expense.

All 4 cats love this!

My 4 cats really love this food and although you’re supposed to transition slowly between foods they actually do well between flavors of this brand if I’m not able to get the one they are eating. Their poop is healthy and litter box is normal. Highly recommended!
