This will come handy if you are lost in the Amazon Jungle. It is hefty, with a 4 - 5mm-thick back and it is as sharp as a razor! It also appears to be hand-made by a blacksmith. It will last forever! Highly recommended!

I am, however, deducting 2-stars for the damage.On the blades TIP (it appears to have rolled). The small cardboard box the little beast was in, as you can see from the vid-clip has sustained damaged.Since the mfg's plastic bag (cellophane crinkley bag) has a hole in the tip with the blade tip sticking out and the mfg's-box is damaged but there's NO corresponding damage to the Amazon box it was delivered in?Elementary my dear Watson... this damage did NOT occur while it was in transit to me. It appears this thing was sitting on an Amazon shelf somewhere, ALREADY damaged. It went into the Amazon box damaged. It landed at my doorstep damaged. I opened the package and found it damaged.Refund to my Amazon account balance, is what I request. Once once the refund is complete and the one I order comes in with no damage or issues, I'll modify this review accordingly.

I don’t know that I’d call this a machete — it’s sort of a cross between a cleaver and a machete — a bush cleaver?It was surprisingly sharp out of the box — I almost cut myself unwrapping it. The edge isn’t perfect, but some honing will take care of that. The measurements in the listing are pretty accurate, but the photo of the muscular man holding one is laughably inaccurate!!! I’m still trying to talk my husband into oiling up and matching his outfit so we can reenact that photo so you can see it in real life!It has a hollow handle end that would allow you to insert a wooden broom handle or the like, and secure with hardware of your choosing. I think I prefer it without a long handle, however, for dispatching branches that are closer to me.

Extremely sharp and very effective! One good heavy swing and it nicely cuts through the weeds and plants ! I grew up with my family using them all the time in Puerto Rico so I knew what to expect and luckily I was able to order correctly and am very impressed with this brand and maker ! You get what you pay for is normally my opinion but this time you get great value for a cheap price!

This machete has a good weight to it. The blade is surprisingly sharp! Very sharp! This can be mounted on a wooden pole and used as a long sickle. It can also be placed on a short wooden handle to be wielded like a hand tool. Whatever handle we decide to use, it will be a valuable gardening tool for us.

Well I'm impressed with this thing i really want expecting much but i can't believe how friggen sharp this was outta the box like I'm talking cut through a thick cardboard box effortless. Can lop off decent sized sticks and cut down weeds or open packages. Once issue is im not sure how im gonna sharpen it once it gets dull as my sharpening stone as cant get the curved part of the blade

Sharp and the desing is unique, the curve in the blad makes sure you get what your going after, if it pulls against it the cut will happen. This is thick hardened steel and not a thin machette blade. it is thick and sharp and forged. I have not mounted it on a handle yet or even got a handle yet but the blade is definitely five stars and will way outlise my years on earth.
