Revan: Star Wars Legends (the Old Republic)

Picked this up finally as I was tired of hearing how Revan’s story was completely destroyed in TOR, and it did not disappoint! Takes place about 2 years after KOTOR and follows Revan as his memories start to resurface and unravels the mystery of why The Mandalorian War started. Included in the book is not only Revan and Bastila living their lives as a married couple in the Jedi order, but includes T3 and Canderous aswell. Also if you’re a player of TOR you get some of Scourge’s background that really fleshes out his character and his motivations.Drew’s SW books are always a banger, but you could tell he probably played the game enough to get into character to write Revan. He’s a smart, cunning and powerful Jedi but also just enough of a rebel like some of the options in the game provided when they’d give you a smart ass response. It’s truly believable that the Revan in this book is the Revan you played in the game, regardless of player style (unless you went full dark side). The ending is open ended as it leads into TOR game and Revan’s campaign, but there isn’t one dull moment. If you’re a SW fan, especially someone who enjoyed KOTOR and TOR timeline, pick this up immediately! Long live Revan.

Tras haber visto la historia de "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic" y "Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II", y tras conocer de la expansión "Shadow of Revan" en el MMORPG "Star Wars: The Old Republic", esta novela supone un épico y emotivo cierre que concluye algunos flecos y huecos argumentales que quedaron en los juegos. Revan se describe como el ser más poderoso de la galaxia, y me hace pensar que ojalá adaptaran algo así a la gran pantalla.Muy buena novela, sólida y entretenida. Contenido Star Wars de calidad.

Drew Karpyshyn conseguiu de novo! Depois de escrever a aclamada Trilogia Darth Bane, que, sem dúvida foram os três melhores livros que eu já li na vida, ele conseguiu de novo com Revan, o livro é incrível, os personagens são ótimos, tem plot-twist, tem duelo de sabre de luz, tem até Mandalorianos! Se você esta na dúvida se compra ou não o livro, não pense duas vezes, COMPRE O LIVRO! Não me decepcionou em nada, o livro até excedeu as minhas expectativas! Infelizmente não consigo falar mais nada sem dar spoilers, então, compre o livro e leia! May The Force Be With You!

Llevaba un tiempo queriendo leer esta obra ya que soy muy fanático de Knights of the Old Republic 1 y 2 y he aquí una pequeña reseña libre de spoilers:Cualquiera que esté interesado en saber qué pasó con Revan justo después del primer KOTOR tiene que leerlo; la prosa del autor es sencilla de seguir y describe de manera detallada cada situación y pelea.Además, es interesante leer a Revan como alguien con “voz propia” y con una personalidad que se sale de los diálogos predeterminados de los juegos. Aún sigo leyéndolo pero hasta ahora no he podido dejar el libro.Algunos fans serán muy estrictos con la historia, pero hay que recordar que este es el mismo autor del primer KOTOR. La obra se lee con la misma energía y chispa que trae el primer videojuego.Recomendado 10/10
