Fat Daddio's Round Cake & Pastry Ring Stainless Steel, 2.75 x 3 Inch, Silver

The description is for an 8 in cake round but be aware you may get a 6 in cake round. I decided to keep it so that I don’t have to buy 6 in cake pans. It’s easy to use, cuts cleanly and seems to be very good quality. Gave 3 stars due to the description and what I actually received.

Compared with the one I bought before, this one is really of good quality and will not deform. After using it a few times before, all of them are not round. When making cakes, they cannot be cut very round. Buy it, it is worth the money.

I used this ring mold to make a layered naked cake. I used this to cut out each layer and then as the bottom mold to keep it upright. This mold is a great size, completely round and a good thickness. I was worried if it wasn't sturdy enough that it might bend but it didn't. When it was time to push the cake through it slid right down with the help of the plastic paper shield that I had on there.

Ever so slightly deformed (not a perfect circle,) leading to non-level contact with the baking surface, so not ideal for semi-liquid batters. The seam is more visible/rough than I'd like (imperfect release if you're using unlined mousses.) but good for tarts/quiches/simple layered cakes and entremets. A decent thickness of steel. Unlikely to deform further under normal use.

Purchased the rings for a funnel cake booth I was running at my church. I was a little nervous because there wasn't much said about using them for that. They are good quality and were perfectly round. I ended up not using them because I found them to be a little large for my purposes, and I couldn't fit more than one in the fryer. Next year I will be getting the 6" ones from this company though. Very pleased with the product.

I used this stainless steel ring to make a no bake cheesecake and it turned out to be perfect. The ring is nice and sturdy. I have no idea why people waste their time and energy trying to make a beautiful desert only to have it fall apart! without this ring many ice cream cakes and filled cakes have gone by the wayside!! This ring prevents all of this heartbreak. Just buy 2 slide them over the layers once in place and freeze until firm. then you can frost cake easily!
