These just keep getting better and better
As the headline suggests, book 5 was superb. Each one keeps the characters going (and growing) the constant tetchy jibes and wise cracks well placed and welcomed. If you want a dry and serious sci-fi book, then this isn't for you. Except it is, it just comes with added humour and warmth. What more could you ask for.I've read the last 3 books in two sittings such is the genuine enjoyment and escapism on offer.I'm running out of books now, so Mr Chaney and Mr Maggert had better get scribbling...

Hopefully not the end
Not sure if this is the end of the series or not, but hoping notThis has been a truly entertaining series of books. Lots and of humour, action and intrigueThe characters are well developed and you end up caring about them. This time round they find that the personality chips are not the worst idea the syndicates have come up with and this drives therm all to be more focused, determined and lethal. A few surprises, but no big ones and the ending leaves you wondering if there is more to come. I hope there is

Another amazing instalment.
Quirky euphemisms, tounge in cheek jokes and action!!! What else could you ask for following Van Tudor on his insane journey.

A good read
A good read, but does really need to be read in the order as part of the series to make total sense, as parts are linked to each other.

New adventures, new faces, new problems. A great read!
"Blue Shift" continues the adventures in the Backyard Starship series, keeping you on the edge of their seat from start to finish. The character development is particularly noteworthy, with familiar faces growing in complexity and new characters adding fresh dynamics to the story. The plot is well-paced, combining high-stakes missions with intriguing plot twists that keep the narrative engaging. The authors' vivid world-building and attention to detail create an immersive reading experience that sci-fi enthusiasts will appreciate. Overall, "Blue Shift" is a fantastic addition to the series, promising more epic adventures and unexpected surprises. Highly recommended for fans of space opera and action-packed science fiction.

Fantastic read!!! One of my all-time sci fi favorites. Riveting!
Read the whole series in a couple weeks. And found myself chuckling and at times laughing out loud at the genuine heart-warming banter and snark. Love the toying with humorous AI concept and organic vs artificial sentience. Brilliant!!! More!!! Van and his crew are just the team and family you’d love to join. Preferably not as an identity chip though. 😁👍👍👏👏👏✌️❤️ Taken the concept of Star Trek’s Data with an emotion chip to entirely new levels!!! Bravo!!! 5 star reviews all the way!!!

New connections
The authors have very smoothly connected different things to show us the path Van is on. I’m enjoying how it is playing out, and continue to be intrigued by the plot. The characters are great, too.

I’m on book 5 of what, 2 million?
And I don’t see myself stopping soon. These authors have found themselves a formula that works. It’s light, full of banter and surprisingly funny jokes. There’s enough action to keep you interested and enough reflective dialog so that the characters don’t seem one dimensional. It’s never vulgar, and I haven’t found a typo or a screaming need for edits yet.Hats off to Chaney and Maggert. You guys have nailed what makes this genre work.
