13" Kraut Pounder/Wood Vegetable Tamper/Sauerkraut Tamper 100% Bamboo for making Sauerkraut, Pickles, Tamping Vegetables by Montimax

I've just started fermenting my own vegetables, and would have been lost without this pounder. Hand packing the vegetables in the jar won't have been enough. I was amazed at how much more compact the vegetables became when packed with this pounder. The two different diameters and the tapered middle make this extra special.

I reallly liked it because of the bevel deaign. My fermenting jar is of the water trap design; and this pounder allows me to compress the cabbage on the outside edge without scrapping the knuckles on my hand. I also like the fact that there is a large end and a small end. I used the large end when I first put the cabbage in then finish with the small end to obtain more compaction.

The Kraut Pounder / Wood Tamper made from Bamboo for making Sauerkraut, Pickles, Tamping Vegetables by Montimax , was a gift to my brother. The quality is great and the service quite prompt.I will buy one again if I need another.

The pounder is fantastic but it gave off very fine slivers when I rub my hands up and down it. I had to sand it with some fine sand paper and then oil it. A little note of caution might be in order.

It's the right length and width so I'm excited about making my next round of fermenting. Need to know if this bamboo tamper needs oiling after soap and water cleaning after use. Other than that, I am a happy customer.

I love this! I really like that it's wood or bamboo, which means that it's resistant to bacteria. It fits my wide mouth mason jars, and is perfect for pounding down my fermenting vegetables when I prepare them. I get more juice from them that way.

Very well expertly made very smooth and the large end worked great for My Big Mouth Mason jars to make my sauerkraut I highly recommend this . I also like that its longer than the other tampers out there.

Love the design and quality. Convinced to buy because of design and length for large jars. Came in a timely manner. Can't wait to use it!
