Nice latch - steel is heat treated. Finish is good.
The latch works good - wish there were other size options, as it was a tight fit - but I was installing into steel, so held with proper screws. One side steel, and used screws and washers on the wood side. Steel is high strength, as using drill to enlarge holes, showed it was heat treated. Again, wish there were options size wise, as see that a larger version would be usable in more applications. The black finish was also great. See photo, as a larger version and longer with more steel for support would be a nice option.

Needs to be used with Lock and then is good.
Fit and finish looks great.Its very heavy duty. The screws included are useless so plan on using your own.The latch without the lock is useless as a simple push would break that latch.That part is poorly designed.However the main purpose is to have a heavy thick latch for a lock?Then this is very well prices and sturdy.I recommend this latch as its very solid and built well other then mentioned.They should not even include these 1/2 screws as they are useless.And either beef up that latch pin. or leave it off.I will buy another one as I was impressed with how heavy it is.

Double closet door lock
I used this on a magnetic double closet door. I needed a way to keep my toddlers out of the closet. This worked perfect and looks nice too. I got a combination lock to go with it. I’m very happy with this purchase and intend to buy more.
