Light is excellent but power adapter broke after only a few uses
light is great but power adapter broke at the threaded nipple. I'm struggling to find a replacement that works with this light?

brilliant design, versatile, lightweight, portable, great for on the go.
The Aputure Amaran 60X S Bi Color LED Video Light 2700-6500K, Upgraded TLCI 97+ CRI 96+ SSI 87+, 9 Lighting Effects, APP Control, DC/AC Power Supply, for Portrait, Studio, Interview and FilmingThis is a really great little package. It comes with an impressive 33300 lux fixture with reflector, at a conservative 60W power draw. Allowing you to use most V-mount and Sony batteries. It comes with both the Sony adapter plate and the fixture has a built in V-mount plate. You do need your own D-Tap to DC adapter though. It comes with a hyper reflector, a diffusion sock, a baby pin to 1/4 20, and an articulating knuckle with umbrella hole. The unit itself is made of ABS and has a screen on the side for all operating info. The light is Bi color and has a handful of effects. It also comes with a DC wall adapter of generous length. It comes in a fiber reinforced foam case, like many drones do. This light is all pro function, in a well priced housing. It is a performance beast, and is very bright and color accurate with a relatively low wattage draw. It's compactness and portability are a huge plus and it's performance is all pro. It also can be controlled by Aperture's sidus app., and uses Bowens mount modifiers. This is great bang for the buck. Remember to look at the Lux not the wattage. Wattage is power draw and lux is light power. This packs a big punch for it's size. Really well thoughtout and designed.

3 1/2 stars really. Some shortcomings partly offset by innovations
I have very mixed feelings about this light. First of all if you wondered if that case looks like Styrofoam in the picture, it absolutely is Styrofoam. I’ve never seen a hard case made of Styrofoam and I’m wondering how long it will last. There are plenty of pieces to this light and you’re gonna need a case to carry it around so I hope it gives good service but I don’t think it’s going to last very long. I wish they had supplied a better case. The light is small and compact and bright. The color accuracy is good and the light doesn’t weigh much. This is primarily because it is made of plastic which is one of my biggest concerns. The heat sink is metal and I assume the important bits inside but the housing is plastic. It doesn’t really feel all that cheap but I just know from experience that this kind of painted plastic tends to wear down and the paint come off leading to a very unprofessional look. The mount on the other hand is excellent build quality, all metal and extremely well-made. If the lamp housing was made of the same stuff I would be very chuffed. But there are some unusual aspects to this light. It has a V mount on the side which would allow you to connect a V-mount battery via D-tap to use as a portable power source. In addition it comes with a plate to let you use to NP-F Style batteries as well. This is fantastic. And it allows for so much more flexibility and placement of the light. Combine with its compact size an intra-goal Bowens mount this gives you a lot of flexibility and goes along way to overcome what I see as the lights shortcomings. It’s very hard to give this light a rating. I don’t think I would buy many more of them but I think one or two of them are very handy to have. Upgrade the headlamp housing and upgrade the case and you’ve got a winner. Or do you have the option of lowering the price to something significantly less. Because for the money you spend on this light I just think there are many better options. But it did in fact come with a case and I have lights that are sitting in lunchbox bags because the vendor didn’t see fit to include a case or even sell one that fits the lights. Less thrilled about that kind of thing. In the end you will spend thousands of dollars simply buying cases to protect your equipment. If the manufacture included these cases you would have the same result and pay much less because they can throw in a case for wholesale. I’m a strong believer that everything should come with the case. But I didn’t see this one coming.

Great light, love the form factor
The media could not be loaded. This light is pretty similar to the original 60x, except that it has a new light chip that is supposed to render skin tones more accurately. An actual use, I’m not 100% sold on it, as it looks pretty similar to the original one, but I’m sure if you got out your light meter you’d be able to tell the difference. I love the form factor on this, nice and compact and puts out a decent amount of light. I really like that you do not need an extra adapter to add bowens mount accessories onto the front. It also has a nice locking cover for the light which most lights don’t have. Comes in a well-built foam case, but the case is pretty much useless after the first time you pull the power cables out as it’s next to impossible to get the cables to fit properly back in the case so it closes.🤦🏽 great idea, but implementation needs some work. Other than the case issue, love this light! The app is super easy to use as well, makes it really easy to control multiple aperture or amaran lights at the same time.

Get one if you don't have one already.
Got this light to pair with my amaran 300C. it's not as bright as the Daylight version but it is bright enough in small rooms, the improved color accuracy over the previous model is a welcomed feature. it works great with the Sidus Link app and I haven't had it disconnect on me once. The only downside to this light is when using the included NPF Adapter plate, If one battery dies the light shuts off, it needs to draw power from two batteries no matter how dim the light is and you don't get any type of warning, you just have to figure out which battery dies and swap it out. the case is comes with serves its purpose although i wish it had a bit of extra room like the 300c case so you don't have to put everything perfectly back into place to get it to close. this is my second amaran cob light and i'm satisfied with the amaran line. if you don't kick the crap out of your gear they should last you a long time. I definitely hope Amaran comes out with a Full color version of this light

Great addition
This light is just the Amaran version of the Aputure 60x that I also have. Similar accessories and quality. The difference is this is a lot more portable in terms of size, weight and this costs way less. It’s a great addition to my growing Aputure setup. I love it’s ease of use and value for money.
