I absolutely love this timer! I use it with my students at school to help them stay on track during activities, and it's been a game-changer. The visual countdown is so helpful, especially for kids who need that extra reminder of time passing. I also use it at home with my own kids to set time limits for tasks or screen time, and it works great for that too. The dry erase feature is a bonus for customizing activities. It's simple, effective, and makes managing time so much easier. Highly recommend it!

Edit: I originally wrote this review in 2018. It’s now 2021 and the timer has stopped working. The reason: my 2 year old toddler got a hold of it when my 9 year old son pulled it down off the wall. The plastic isn’t broken or anything. It simply stopped rotating on its own. My hubby had fixed it but now it’s stopped working completely. I would still recommend this timer, just make sure you hang it up high enough to where kids can’t take it down. As long as it’s out of reach, it should function perfectly and last a long time. I had actually started using it for my home gym as well. And since it wasn’t stationary, we got a little careless with it. In the future, I intend on getting a couple more of these. One for the home gym and the other for their homeschool. It’s quite practical and although delicate, extremely useful. Especially for those of us that loose track of time easily. It’s great for setting limits on TV time as well.Original review:We got the largest size and wall mount it above our computer in our homeschooling space. It has been the perfect solution for keeping us on task. My 6 year old loves setting the timer. He knows he has 30 mins of computer time and he sets it every morning after breakfast. When it dings, it's not annoying, but loud enough that it reminds everyone it's time for the next activity. My son now has a better concept of time. When it dings, he shuts off the computer on his own and we get started on Math. By far, one best purchases I've made for our homeschool. I am terrible at timing and routines. This helps tremendously. I don't think the materials ate partcularly long lasting. Seems flimsey. But my son isn't the most careful and it has withstood his use so far. I hope it holds up! Oh, also, you can't go all the way to 60 mins bc the red will overlap with zero and it will ding. Not a big deal for us. The only subject that takes us that long is phonics. This was ordered because my mom, who is bed bound, gives the caretakers a hard time when they try to bathe her or administer meds. She has become adept at stalling when there's something she doesn't want to do. My sister came up with the idea to use a visual timer instead of a timer on someone's watch. The reason is because she can see the timer counting down and also, she can't accuse someone of making the time shorter that what it actually is. The timer is pretty much ready to go straight out of the box. It came with batteries so that's a plus. Although it is far larger than I thought it would be, we find it works will with her diminished vision. It's super easy to use. Just move the black knob in the center to indicate how much time you want on the clock. That's it! Turn the handle and let it go and it will start counting down the time.

I love this! I'm buying another! But, yes, the first one broke. The whole family uses this with much success. My 3 year old wanted to play with it. He was being gentle enough that I thought it was fine, but he pushed the dial past the 0 mark and now it doesn't work anymore. Well, lesson learned.

I bought my first version of this timer when I was in my first or second year of teaching. It lasted for over 5 years. I don't think there was anything wrong with the timer, it's my fault for dropping it! I had to buy a second one which also lasted over 5 years. This time I used it with my daughter at home since I left the classroom. She has an excellent concept of time now and she's only 3 and a half -- I attribute that to this timer! I finally bought this one, my third, and it was worth every penny.The older versions were easy enough to use. This one is even easier and more user-friendly, which I didn't know was possible. You can hang it up on the wall, you can adjust the feet on the back to make it stand and! this version has magnets on the back!I've spent well over $100 buying 3 of these timers. When this one has to be replaced in another, hopefully 10 years!, I will happily spend the money.

I purchased this timer to help my students with time management. It can be tough for new middle schoolers to self regulate. This timer does not disappoint. My student are much more mindful of their work habits and determining how best to plan how to complete their math tasks. Displaying time remaining is especially helpful and the 3 short beeps when time has elapsed is not distracting.

I ordered this item twice because I loved the idea of it for my classroom.Each broke after just 2 and a half weeks.
