These arrived promptly and well packaged/intact {good quality cardboard box/foam pads between two pull out layers} and feel and look more expensive than they were. {please ignore the drum sticks on the photo!} Super soft and very close to Sennelier's oil pastels {not quite as smooth but near as damn it!} Not so sure regards light fastness but would expect some to be fugitive like some are but for my needs {commercial} they're fine. There is a little 'pilling' I suspect due the wax to oil ratio or quality and pigment type. I can't imagine that the pigments would be super fine given the price and possibly part of the reason but a quick dab with a cotton bud and they lift {or smooth with the sparest amount of baby oil.}I've used them with the Sennelier and they blend perfectly well, nice soft and buttery. They're opaque and mark making is versatile, going on thickly or light they equally adhere to the surface without oil residue {Arches watercolour hot press and cheap 'sugar' paper in the samples given.} So for a mid to artist quality range I would highly recommend especially if money is the object, these are great value. {great colour range too including the Macaroon and naturals with the vibrants in one box....} what's not to like?

These oil pastels are the best I’ve used, and I’ve used a lot over the years. They are incredibly pigmented a little goes a long way , they are super soft and easy to get a perfect blend. I’m so so pleased I chose these . They got delivered quickly and safely too. Buy them they are amazing quality for the money!!

These are as good as Sennelier and a fraction of the price. Really soft and go on top of anymedia really smoothly. I went with Maracron as I wanted to have some bright highlight dashes and they’re really vibrant and adds a lovely finishing touch. Will 100% buy these again when I run out and highly recommended!!

I’m a relative newbie to the world of oil pastels and have experimented with various brands. I would say these extra softs are similar to Paul Rubens but I find them more consistent, all the colours cover and blend well. They spread easily for backgrounds. I bought the set of 36 which contains 3 whites which is very useful. They are very soft but not difficult to use at all and I don’t see why they wouldn’t be suitable for beginners, especially at such a reasonable price. I’ve since gone back and ordered the two smaller sets of more subtle colours to complement my original set. Beautifully boxed too so would make a great gift. Really pleased with them.

Very disappointed to find that the pastels on the top layer of the box had all become loose in transit so all colours were blending into each other and leaving bits of colour on the paper wrappings . Bottom layer OK. Not had chance to use them yet but they seem good value.

Packaging: Excellent. There are two layers, each covered with foam and a cardboard piece. Foam stops the colors from rubbing off here and there and the cardboard keeps them stable. The box is gift-worthy. There are nifty little ribbons on the sides of each tray to pull out each tray.Pros: There is a good variety and range of hues of your typical colors (reds, blues, greens, yellows, oranges, purples, pinks, skin tones and greys). Each stick is very consistent in application, lays down smoothly - glides over the paper. The colors are vibrant, rich and provide good coverage. They are easy to blend and will layer well over harder oil pastels i.e. you might not be able to layer these over "goopy" oil pastels like Paul Rubens (or Kuelox), but will work well alongside Mungyos.Photos: The two pictures I have attached are made by me, by following YT tutorials. In each of them, the background is Mungyo OP, the animal itself is Mont Marte OP, the bright whites are from Kuelox OP, the black in the butterfly is from a graphite pencil and the white highlights (e.g. shine in the eyes, whiskers, fine fur) are from a gel pen.Cons: The white in this set is more of a blending stick i.e. you cannot create intense white highlights over your drawing. I do not like the neon colors (there are about 9 or 10 of them I think) - no idea where I would use those. Instead, I would have much appreciated extra white sticks for blending or black ones or more hues of other colors.Verdict: These are excellent, budget-friendly, good quality oil pastels that you should buy, even if you are a professional (to create your "rough" sketches before making your final piece) or just a hobbyist like me. Even for those who are "not that much into art", if you try these, you will be addicted to using them! They are so much fun to use!

Very soft and easily blended. Lots of beautiful colors. Compares well to Gallery oil pastels and great value for the money.

I love these oil pastels! I own several brands, some expensive, medium priced and cheap- and these are my favorites. I will buy them, again.
