This is the one you want. Metal so no smells (currently on our second kid and this is still fine) and doesn’t look terrible. Our friends seem to throw out plastic ones after several months - after three and a bit years and two kids I don’t see why this won’t keep doing to job for any future kids.

The Ubbi nappy bin is well put together and looks nice. I like the range of colours. The design has a lot of attention to detail, and it really works: it's very effective at keeping in smells (most notable when you open it!) and just takes normal bin bags (we purchased this after using a Tommee Tippee bin with those single-use cassettes, that didn't even keep the smells in - the Ubbi is much, much better). There are a couple of things that mean using it is not as smooth as it could be. The opening is a bit too small. It's OK with newborn babies, but we also have a 2 year old whose nappies can grow quite large when he gets the most out of them. Rather than dropping them through the opening easily, they have to be carefully rolled and posted in. Once or twice I've accidentally befouled the edges of the bin's opening and had to clean it. The opening if also off-centre, which sometimes results in the nappies piling up on one side - sometimes I have to carefully reach in and push them towards the other side, to get the most out of the bin's capacity. Sometimes this results in the bin bag coming loose from the holder, because there's nothing to securely grip the bin bag. We have to empty the bin roughly every 1.5 days. Considering we have a 2-year-old and two 1-month-old babies, that's not bad. I like that it doesn't take up much floor space, but that does mean it can tip over easily when a toddler is about. The good thing is the lid is very secure, so when it is tipped over, nothing spills out. The child lock is mostly not very useful - it's too easy for children to unlock it. Overall I give it four stars (thus dooming my review to the unread middle) because despite the negatives it's still the best bin out there that I know of, that really keeps the smell in. I'm glad there's a company who's not just copying the same old (wasteful and ineffective) twisty cassette design. Originally I was put off by the price, and thought I'd just get a kitchen pedal bin instead. But when I looked for decent quality pedal bins, it turns out they're around the same price or more expensive! So I'd say the price is pretty good, actually.

Expensive for sure, but I’m happy with the function! It’s necessary for any house with baby and disposable nappies!

Excellent diaper pail! Keeps the smell in (until you open it which is normal). Takes regular garbage bags which saves you money and steel sides makes it much more durable.

Ottimo prodotto! Utilissimo con un neonato in arrivo, trattiene gli odori, la struttura è molto solida e ha anche il blocco sportello in caso di altri bambini in casa... Ma cosa più importante è può utilizzare con qualsiasi tipologia di sacchetto in commercio, a differenza dei soliti mangia pannolini che funzionano solo con le ricariche della stessa marca e che non trattengo gli odori come promettono.

La mejor compra si donde vives no recogen la basura diariamente. El bote aísla totalmente los olores (nomás es mejor tenerlo afuera porque cada que se abre si se siente) y tiene capacidad para muchísimos pañales

I think this is a perfect nappy bin. I had one in Canada and immediately bought one again when I moved internationally because I didn’t want to be without it. I love that you can use any garbage bag in it and that you don’t need to buy expensive refills. Most importantly, it traps in all the smells. You might think that you can get away with using a regular bin, but everyone who comes into your house will be able to smell it even if you can’t.
